Might & Magic X - Server Shutdown Leaves DLC Inaccessible
Might & Magic X - Server Shutdown Leaves DLC Inaccessible

I loved MMX, that game is totally my jam. It's a blobber set in a weird fantasy world with interesting party and character customization and a lot of weird stuff happening in general. I never understood why it didn't catch on as much as other, lesser games of its type except maybe that weird Ubisoft not allowing you to, well, own the game you paid for, I guess.
And this is the issue of course with never really owning your content, but that's been hashed and rehashed and hashed into browns.

Yup I agree, as blobbers go it's pretty damn solid. And it was tough, from what I remember. Things really aren't comparable with the Ubisoft platform versus others like GoG/Steam; I remember having janky issues just about every time I used the thing, for the two Ubi games that I had. Granted this was some years ago, but I doubt it's gotten any better. So I think that had much to do with why this iteration of M&M didn't jell well with either current or classic players, for the most part.

Quick update: devs answered this today on Steam.
They're aware gamers are unable to progress past Act 1 of the game, and they're looking into it!
Edit: Unfortunately, this doesn't help with unlockables and DLC. I've already bought the game twice, so I have no qualms about piracy to play the additional content in this case. Eff ubisoft.

If they're looking into the issue we can also hope their solution will also enable DLCs back, who knows?

This really goes to show that you don't own a game unless you can install it and play it in its entirety without any internet connection.

I'm glad to hear that it's actually being looked at, hopefully there is a sensible conclusion to this ugly tale of woe.

No hint of an apology there.

I think this is great it adds a whole new layer of “gameplay” You have to make sure you play you’re game before it gets yanked.
Seriously though I feel they’ll fix it. Seems like a lot of ill will for no reason. I’ve been wrong before though.
