Review: The Dungeon of NaheulbeukMore information.
Dungeons and Dragons is a much-loved board game franchise. It is followed by young and old and inspires players to allow their imaginations to run wild. Set in fantasy lands filled with orcs, goblins, wizards, and warriors, you can create the adventure of your dreams. Rules are set in stone and only the Dungeon Master has the power to change the landscape. It's a serious business and its player base spends hours preparing for their next outing. The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos - Chicken Edition is a satirical game that pokes fun at its D&D concept.
Developed by Artefacts Studio and published by Dear Villagers, this is an isometric dungeon-crawling adventure. With an absurd story to enjoy, and colourful characters to control, you'll chuckle endlessly. With nine chapters filled with inside jokes, swear words, and toilet humour, there is the possibility you'll miss the point. However, I loved its childish approach as it pokes fun at the faithful D&D community and everything in between.
The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: Amulet of Chaos - Chicken Edition is a tough but funny tactics game. A tongue-in-cheek nod to D&D players around the globe. It'll have you laughing between the bouts of frustration.
+ Wonderfully detailed environments and characters.
+ Excellent audio and acting.
+ Thorough tutorials and simple UI reduces confusion.
+ Lots of replay value.
+ Excellent value for money.
- The achievement list is too challenging.
- D&D experience isn't required.
- Lots of RNG elements undermine situations.
- Fights can be unduly tough.
Score: 8/10

Yes, fights can be tough even in adventure mode or how it is called, the easiest mode.
Maybe I'm just bad at it, but I had to use heal and sometimes even resurrect party members too often for my personal taste.
I wish they were a bit easier, so I had more laughs than a grim face of concentration about which move to do next.
The satire part is absolutely excellent, though ! I didn't have as much fun with a game within the recent years !

I haven't had any problems on adventure mode but I'm not done with it yet either. I've enjoyed what I've seen of it. And yeah, it's an overall fun game. The tactical is stronger than expected although the RNG/fumble thing can be annoying.
