SkyrimSE on sale

Skyrim SE is on Steam sale now for $16. I have the regular edition which I enjoyed for a few years but don't play anymore. Is there much difference between the two? Are there new mods which require SE which might be of interest? Any thoughts?

Skyrim Special Edition is 64-bit and DirectX 11 while regular Skyrim is 32-bit and DirectX 9. There are hundreds of mods built for special edition. However, if regular Skyrim has been played to death, this isn't going to resurrect your interest.

No, there is not much difference between the two. All of the mods I've seen for SE are either ports of LE mods or mods that do overlapping things.

Yeah the SE edition was an engine upgrade that improved performance, but I didn't like some of the render changes. Some of my favorite mods never got ported either.
Look on the bright side the newer version doesn't crash as much.
