Talk about a coincidence, having just seen Motherless Brooklyn.

Gosh, what a blow! He's been in some really good shows, and will be missed. RIP.

Don't Breathe 2 is one of those movies that has such stupid writing that it takes you days to finally trudge through the entire movie, having to stop watching every 5 minutes to do something more worth your time. I have 28 minutes left, might be done by the weekend.

Over the weekend I watched a couple of "classics" that my friends had all seen but which passed me by, for whatever reason: Road House and Tommy Boy.
I also tried to watch What's Up, Doc? but I gave up on it. Unfunny and plodding.

I re-watched for, I dunno, maybe the twentieth time in total, what might be my favorite superhero film of all time, the Crow. If you've not seen it, and enjoy the genre, I highly recommend it.

To bad they cancelled the TV version The Crow: Stairway to Heaven in 1999.

Yeah, the telly show of the Crow wasn't that bad, I might have to re-watch that as well. If memory serves, it was a Canadian production and lasted but one series. And aye, the film sequels are garbage, avoid at all costs!

I rewatched Road House, for the first time in decades. I mean, a lot of it is into "so bad it's good" territory, but what I will say for it is that at least they knew how to shape and pace a narrative, even with the basic plot. A lot of writers/directors seem to struggle with that, these days.

I've not seen that film in years, yet I remember Road House being solid good entertainment. Not to mention I'm quite certain that the leading lady was super hot!

With the recent news that they're auctioning off the cars they used in the filming of Mad Max: Fury Road, I just hit play on Netflix without much thought given. I'd seen the movie years ago, when it first released, but hadn't seen it since.
And man was it a great rollercoaster ride. I remember liking it when I saw it originally, but I also had some mixed feelings. This time, I think I enjoyed it a whole lot more. The action is amazing, it looks phenomenal. To think most of the scenes are not CGI but live action. It looks beautiful.
But I think the best thing about it is the world and lore they built, in the post apocalyptic wasteland. The mish-mash of car culture with viking lore, the different way of speaking. All great and beautiful touches. And the cars, man did they look cool. A real fun movie to enjoy.
I remember the first time I saw it, I also had some issue with the fact that Max spoke so little and his speech is even broken. But I didn't have any issue now, plus it makes perfect sense if you think about how he's likely spent most of his years in solitude.

Apparently a new Matrix movie is coming out.
In it we see Neo adapting to a virtual zimmer frame as he learns to spin it on his left finger while his right hand holds his back.
Trinity is also back, having spent the last few years on a world cruise that involved being constantly chased by Agent Smith, who, having being fired by Robot-corp for continued incompetence, is now working for a local stray-dog shelter and charity.
Morpheus has been consigned to a nursing home run by The Oracle, where he happily consumes approximately 17 multi-coloured pills every night before bed. And when he wakes up and before every daily meal. The Oracle thinks he might last a couple more years at most.
The robots themselves are having increasing problems with both rust and constant 'upgrades' from their new management who have long since forgotten the point of the exercise and now seem happy to let people walk through walls and even drop through the floor. Agent Brown has been suspended over the statue of liberty for so long that a new religion has formed hailing her the 2nd coming.

The new James Bond is coming out too, and soon since it's at the end of the month.
I'm glad Rami Malak is in the cast, and Léa Seydoux is coming back!
I'm wondering though, how many special effects do they need to keep adding to this franchise? Sure, it's fun to watch, but largely overdone and unnecessary.

Agreed, Redglyph. I much prefer to watch some of the real Bond flicks, with Connery, Lazenby, or Moore. Craig is decent in the role of Bond, yet the stories and other silly people in the current movies often seem jarring and mis-placed.
