Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Patch 1.0.7c
September 29th, 2021, 17:37
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous just received a new patch! It's a 139-MB download.
UPDATE: there have been at least two hotfixes with no version change since then.

Update 1.0.7cMore information.
Crusaders!
A new patch has been deployed. Note that the Mac version will be delayed by approximately two hours.
Known Issues:
[…]
- Sometimes a 2x2 sized unit in the army window may get grayed out and be unable to move to another slot. Closing and opening the window a few times should help.
- Spellbook may contain phantom classes with level 0 under the character classes. This is a visual issue that will be fixed soon.

Ah yes another patch and more broken games features as a result.

LOL true.
The whole ch4 is now broken as result of this patch.
Ch4 btw was the least bugged.
Hotfix for it was just released.

I am just glad to be a patient gamer, I am sure this game will be just perfect in a few months. I did wait also before playing Kingmaker and I had a amazong bug free experience with the game. Just be patient, plenty of other games to play out there.

I'm playing so slowly I've not encountered any major bugs.
The main annoyance for me for now is the turn based combat still doesn't work well.
To be honest, the game has lots of annoyances, but none that detract enough from the fun for me yet…
It certainly isn't a perfect game, but it is fun.
I like the lore a lot which helps.

I've seen two stealthy updates since the "official" one, but they haven't changed the version number and there is no info about that. It may have something to do with the problems reported right after the update…
EDIT: make it 3… it's apparently 1.0.7e now, though it's hard to read.
It must be a clear signal to wait until it calms down.

Hotfix 1.0.7e is live!(Need at least 5 characters.)
It addresses the following issues:
Phantom level 0 classes no longer appear in your spellbook.
Game no longer crashes when entering and exiting buildings in Act IV

I finished my angel run without any major issues and no longer in a hurry to finish another run (not that I can anyway, busy with life stuff :/)

I’ve definitely hit some pretty major bugs, numerous freeze ups, crashes, things not working properly. Nothing absolutely game breaking though, just really annoying. Overall it’s still probably my game of the year, but certainly people being patient will be rewarded for it.

Have decided to put my game on hold, and will probably start over, once the first DLC is out. I held out on Kingmaker until the it was content complete and mostly bug-free and it's become my favorite game of this type since the glory days of the Infinity Engine.
Time to play Atom and Trudograd… keep it up my Russian comrades!

Back to Valheim to try the new features?
Haven't been playing anything much this week but will definitely split time between WotR and Valheim over the weekend (long weekend where I am

Yeah, technical problems. Yesterday in a certain battle my game broke. TB combat just stopped, the enemy didn take its turn. Turning TB off and on resulted in the ulgy Spider Swarms doing multiple rounds of damage in an instant whiping my party.
However I spent about 2-3 hours willingly for one tough battle alone. I wasn't well buffed before, spells already had run out. But I refused to rest for a complete buff. I wanted to win that combat with the ressources I had at this moment without resting. (Playing on core with a not so optimized party.)
Finishing the game will take me >200 hours if I continue like this.
Turn based (if it works correctly) makes this game a lot more fun for me. It gets clear that D20 is first and foremost a turn based system.
And I love that I can switch to RTwP anytime when the battle gets trivial.

My game is starting to get a little wonky and I wonder if it's because of all the patches… I need to try getting farther tomorrow. My wife and I have been playing New World, but we've kinda been playing it like Valheim as a co-op survival and crafting game in these early days. So maybe by the time we get tired of this Pathfinder will be patched a few dozen more times and I'll restart with a new try.
(Edit: Oh, and having played this turn-based I'd never be able to go back to RTWP. D&D tabletop adaptations need to be turn based to really… work properly. They just do. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were good in spite of being RTWP, not because of it. Same with Torment, etc.)

I wonder how much smoother the game would have been without the annoying TB combat added. Shame so many games get ruined with TB combat. Luckily a few TB games are still decent enough to play in-spite of the crappy combat style.

So I would have much preferred that they built the system from the ground up to support it. But obviously that would have made some players very unhappy, and since it's designed to be a baldur's gate successor I understand not wanting to do that. But I can still hope that their next game will focus on it more.

I also tend to agree that the turn based game add much to the game and make some battles much more interesting and I love the fact that we can turn it on/off at will.
If anything, I would not have added the crusade layer and the game could very well live with just a dozen classes or so.
