I don't claim to be fully up on everything that happened during the eighties in the cold war era between the super powers, yet this show does seem to get a lot of things right. It's not perfect by any means, yet I'd put the Americans easily in my top ten telly of all time. One spot where I will say they've truly nailed the era is with the casting, it's very encompassing, imo.

Just started on Letterkenny season 10. I had heard it was better than season 9 (which is a low bar, as it was the worst series by far) … and that is true, but the first episode is still probably not in the top 50 (there are 67 episodes). I will keep trying (S10 has 6 episodes 20 minutes each, so not a huge effort) …

We just finished both seasons. Really enjoyed both seasons, but I did prefer season 1 over season 2. Season 1's simpler, episodic nature was more fun, with the focus being on the characters, while season 2 got away from the characters somewhat and more into the various plots; with some deviations that were not in the books (or the games, which itself had its own deviations).

Watched the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett. It was pretty good. My first impression is better than what I got from The Mandalorian.

My son and I just watched it, too. We both liked it a lot.
I was a fan of the character when I was a youngster and was pretty bummed they cancelled the BF movie, so I'm glad this is looking like it's going to be good.

Anyone seen The Silent Sea? Apparently it's starting to get some buzz.
It's another korean series on Netflix which recently dropped.
The premise sounds interesting. I'll probably try it out.

Just finished binge-watching the 3 series of 'Mr. Inbetween'. It's an Australian production, starring a guy called Scott Ryan, who also apparently created the series. It's a black comedy -pretty violent, but with plenty of lighter moments. All the actors were previously unknown to me, as I haven't personally seen much in the way of Australian dramas etc. The only disappointment is that there is no series 4 planned, as Scott Ryan feels that it has reached it's natural ending…but I live in hope.
Definitely recommended viewing. 9/10

Yes, I watched The Silent Sea a couple of days ago. Dubbed into English, also with English subtitles. The general storyline is quite good, and production quality was high, but I feel that they stretched it out too far. IIRC I think it ran to 10 episodes, when (in my opinion) 6 or 7 would have been enough. But worth watching for sure.

Nice to hear, thanks. I was in the mood for an atmospheric sci-fi series. I hope they only plan on one season of it.

So I've been watching the most recent series of Fargo, I started watching it some months ago and took a long break after the second episode. I find this series very different from the prior ones, in that many sequences are set up and the wait for them to pay off seems longer than in prior seasons. When stuff starts happening though, it happens fast and brutal, that gunfight in the train station….well, we didn't get to see it fully play out, yet the aftermath was….daunting.

I enjoyed it as well - feel like Mandalorian set the tone and had more establishing ground to cover, whereas this was more like one of those sitcom 'flashback' episodes as it took him from birth to the present. (except not lazy like those filler sitcom episodes). My wife is up for the next episode, which is always a litmus test

We also started watching Ted Lasso (I know, late to the party) … we've been weeding out some of the network TV shows we watched (Good Doctor, Million Little Pieces, etc.) and adding new stuff. Funny stuff so far.

I'm quite enjoying re-watching Picket Fences, a show that aired about thirty years ago, and I know I missed plenty of episodes due to working and having a young child at the time. I'm still in the first series, the episode I watched last night was about a transgender person that got found out, and the results from that….man, I'm not sure if this episode could even be aired today, lol. I think the pitchforks and torches would come out immediately!

Been watching the second season of Witcher. It is really good and I'm going through roughly 2 episodes per night.

Also heads up of Cobra Kai fans, the new season is out! I took a break from Witcher to watch some cobra kai. I dunno why this series works, but it just does!

Yeah, I watched the first episode of the newest Cobra Kai, right now I'm wondering just how long Silver is going to be sitting on the bench….I'm guessing not for long!

I found another very interesting tv series, very untraditional but very wholesome and relaxing. Joe Pera Talks With You. Very interesting.

Ok, so I'm chugging along in the Wheel of Fire episodes, and last night I watched the seventh one, which opens with a fantastic combat montage. The series is ok, it's not really grabbed me fully, yet this episode is a great step in the right direction. They've made some changes from the novel that make no sense, at least up to this point, for now I'll finish the series and see how it all pans out.

I saw that Wheel of Time tv series being advertised on amazon, looks pretty mediocre to me. But I was never that much a fan of the books, always thought it was overrated.
I remember liking the first book, but tried reading book two and lost interest pretty quickly.

I do want to watch the Witcher tv series, though.

Finished 4th season of Casa de Papel, its been a rollercoaster as expected but the robing went into the background. A few things still abit over the edge, but overall was great.
ps forgot to post about season 3 money bomb intro, which was epic

Yeah I would agree with the Wheel of Time series being rather average, or even somewhat below, when you compare it to better shows like the Last Kingdom and others. Yet that episode I saw last night, the seventh in the series gives me hope that the final episode will be equally worthy. It all just looks…..too pretty to be a medieval world, if that makes sense. There should be more grit and grime. It might seem like a small issue, yet it's systemic in how it warps through the entire show, lessening other aspects along the way.
