God of War - Release Date: January 14
January 6th, 2022, 15:03
The Action RPG God of War will be released for the PC on January 14:
God of WarMore information.
Enter the Norse realm
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive… and teach his son to do the same.
Grasp a second chance
Kratos is a father again. As mentor and protector to Atreus, a son determined to earn his respect, he is forced to deal with and control the rage that has long defined him while out in a very dangerous world with his son.
Journey to a dark, elemental world of fearsome creatures
From the marble and columns of ornate Olympus to the gritty forests, mountains and caves of pre-Viking Norse lore, this is a distinctly new realm with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters and gods.
Engage in visceral, physical combat
With an over the shoulder camera that brings the player closer to the action than ever before, fights in God of War(tm) mirror the pantheon of Norse creatures Kratos will face: grand, gritty and grueling. A new main weapon and new abilities retain the defining spirit of the God of War series while presenting a vision of conflict that forges new ground in the genre.

I'm excited to replay this on PC, but I probably won't get to it very quickly. I've got other stuff on my plate right now.
But I did make sure to get it, which I recommend to anyone wanting to signal to Sony to bring more and more of their PS exclusives to PC.
Now if they'd only hurry up and bring The Last of Us and Bloodborne to PC I could die happy.

I definitely want Sony to bring more exclusives to PC, but I'm not going to purchase a game that I have no interest in just to send signals to them.
I have a strong feeling we'll see Bloodborne on PC eventually. I don't see them porting TLoU though.

Oh man, I'm all on-board with Sony bringing more of their exclusives to the computer folk, I've been on that band wagon for decades. I've no clue what this game is, to be honest, though I had a few friends in Canada that liked it.

I looked at some PS4 reviews of this game and am now looking forward to playing it on PC… and like others, look forward to other Sony exclusives coming to PC. I played Days Gone last year and thought it was one of the best games I played that year.

I played this one on the PS4 and it was surprisingly good, although I wouldn't put it quite up there with Horizon Zero Dawn. But even as someone who really disliked the characters, story, and combat system of the past franchise, this one really drew me in for awhile.

Ghosts of Tsushima is the Sony exclusive I really want to see.

Definitely not interested in God of War, nor the Last of us series, nor Bloodborne.
The only series I'd buy and am interested in by Sony is Uncharted, which already is coming to the pc.

I would be more thrilled by new games if I could upgrade my PC without paying exorbitant sum for GPU.

You realize it's only Uncharted 4 + expansion that's getting ported, right?

I played the first three Uncharted games back on a console some time ago, they were ok yet reminded me a lot of the Tomb Raider franchise, which is to say, not terribly interesting to me. At the time though the stories were pretty engaging.

And quite a few of those elements are also in the God of War reboot, to bring the discussion back on topic. Also a highly cinematic, amazingly polished action adventure game with the same metroidvania elements. I'm also excited for Ragnarok. I wonder when that sequel will hit the PC. That will be another test in Sony's strategy for releasing new games on PC. So far they've only released titles that have had a few years of sales on console. I wonder if their strategy will change to ultimately release PC games on day 1. I somehow doubt it.

I probably should have said the Tomb Raiders games that I actually played, which were the first two when they were originally released. I've heard and seen of the updated versions yet haven't tried any of them, to date. And honestly, I doubt I'd care for them, I think my tastes have changed somewhat over the years.

I'm glad they bring their games to PC, those ports seem to be better with each game ported aswell, but my selection of games is very narrow.

Apparently someone has gained early access to the PC version and there's a 2h gameplay video of it.
