Default The Waylanders - Released

February 2nd, 2022, 20:32
GATO STUDIO just released The Waylanders on Steam and GOG.

The Journey of a Thousand Years Begins Today! The Waylanders is out now!

Hi Everyone!

Fernando Prieto, co-founder of Gato Salvaje Studio here!

The Waylanders is out today! This is a project we've been working on for the last five years and I am so incredibly proud of the journey this team has taken us on. This is a story born of our Galician roots and many of the tales of our heritage have inspired elements throughout the game.

First, we have an amazing trailer to share with you. I hope you enjoy it!

Not sure what type of rpg this is. It looks party based. I wonder what sort of gameplay it got?

Combat is real-time with pause I think as they were pitching this as the next Dragon Age…. but I would advise checking out the reviews. The Steam reviews that have been posted today are mostly negative.

I just checked Waylanders reviews and its not looking good at all (sitting at mostly negative at the moment)!

I LOVE party based, RTwP RPGs but I'm definitely going to stay away from this one - especially since most common complaints seem to be with writing.

Yeah, a lot of criticism of the writing, and if thats as bad as it sounds, that would kind of kill it for me.

A poor story would be tough to endure, especially for these days when the competition is so high, not to mention plenty of great classics to always revisit. Even stellar combat/mechanics would be hard-pressed to make up for lazy writing.
