Some of these games are already on my wishlist (Absolute Tactics, Cyber Knights, Urban Strife)

Also: is Telepath Tactics: Liberated a remake/remaster of the first game *or* a brand new one?

I believe Telepath Tactics is a remake of an older game, configured to run and perform better than the original. I own the original game and one fight constantly bugged out for me, I tried it three times and like forty minutes into the map, it would always freeze up. Due to that I had to abandon the game, it was a great deal of fun up to that point.

Awesome, but please, for the love of god, don't tell anyone which ones, you never know who's listening.

I'm from this generation:

I used to read MAD magazines here in Brasil in the 1980s.

Spy vs spy, @henriquejr? That was an awesome game!

I hope we'll see many demos of those games during the upcoming Steam Next Fest, it's only 2 weeks away. I see some of them have a demo already.

Zoria and Shadow of the Road seem nice, I'll follow them. And of course Urban Strife and Cyber Knights.

But ouch at the title, and "best top" sounds exaggerated for its content There are many missing titles that look much better than most of this list, like Broken Roads, Project Haven, Black Geyser, Lost Eidolons, King Arthur, …

He said indie… maybe he doesn't consider Broken Roads, Project Haven, Black Geyser, Lost Eidolons, King Arthur, … as indie games.

It's possible, the definition is so vague, they seem to be indies enough though. Or maybe he's pressured to use specific key words in the titles to get the video through Youtube's capricious suggestion engine.

Competition on Youtube must become harsh.

Never heard about the game
I was really referring to the MAD's characters because the magazine is also part of my childhood

Ah OK, I didn't know they were called that, I only recognized the image from playing the C64 game
I see there was a comic "spy vs spy" in that magazine, which explains the origin of the game title.

Ignited Steel: Mech Tactics looks interesting. Bookmarked.
Older ones are:
Zoria: Age of Shattering
The Iron Oath
Absolute Tactics maybe
Cyber Knights: Flashpoint
Shadow of the Road Finally a samurai turn-based gorefest!
Zodiac Legion: albeit the demo wasn't stellar.
Urban Strife forever
