Not sure, never checked, he has no further point in the game provided you have completed his quest in the tomb.

Several vendors will dissappear, and a few new ones appear, as you progress from Act 2 into 3.

Ok asking around this seems to be a bug, so hopfully this is fixed in the now released 1.03.

I just got past the duel with Lorne in my second run through and I verified that Olaf was back hanging out in the side chambers in the church of Tyr. It would indeed seem to be bug that he wasn't there for you Acleacius.
