Another Gothic 3 wiki
January 10th, 2007, 22:22
It seems somebody at the official Gothic 3 forums decided to put up a wiki as well a few days ago… you can take a look at it at http://gothic3.cornergraf.net/index.php
So, what does that mean?

That we must add more to our wiki!
I've seen it, but it looks very unprofessional to me. Made by a few 14-year olds.

I think their main page looks a lot more inviting, though. What, with a table of contents and nice sections and everything.

Their main page is better, but the content is very much lacking. The "problem" is that they're using the usual MediaWiki software, which, face it, people are used to by now. At the very least, it's the preferred one.

Which is exactly the thing I experienced when I first saw Wakka Wiki. While it's pretty capable wiki software, I'm used to Wikipedia and the like and it felt unfamiliar and cleaner somehow. Of course, that's greatly dependent on what you fill the wiki with, although I suspect that MediaWiki has more features to allow uniform layout.
Wakka Wiki is light-weight and it feels that way.
