I like your idea! I'll have to think of something … I want to get into using the tools next year …

So, it takes quite a bit of sacrafice, but is also a lot of fun and provides a warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment when it's finished.

After my first burnout running a PW I took the time to do the stuff I couldn't do and one of them was eventually a Star Trek mod. I got the first Act done but never completely finished it. I should still upload it.
Its a lot of work and getting yourself motivated is troubling. Fans can be harsh if a mod is not commercial quality. You really have to have something in you to keep going without knowing what the response would be.
There is a lot of flexibility in mod writing when you don't have to worry about how a script would break a PW or even its balance. And when its single player you have even more flexibility.

Doing my own mod was what burned me out on NwN 1. I spent more time with that than I did with the game, and opening up and looking at everything the game had to offer from the inside was one big spoiler.
I wont be making that mistake again, unless Im getting paid to do it!

I hope someone makes a mod to Unlock the map in Chapter 2 and possibly Chapter 3 (not made it yet), its ridiculuos to think we can't go somewhere we have already been, unless of course there is some explanation like an Earthquake.
Oh and lets not forget a Mod to fix Inventory Stacking.

I think the reason they did away with most Act I areas in Act II was just a matter of making it easier for the players to know which areas are actually of relevance to the current part of the game.

The problem is most people will miss things necessary for at least one quest.

It would be sweet if someone made a fort siege MOD where two (or more) massive teams of players can get together and battle over ownership of crossroad fort or something. The owner then defends the next attack etc…

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language…they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
