Frustrated w/ NWN2 -- what should I be playing?

I also think Dungeon Siege II is a lot better game than the first iteration--I'm not exactly sure why since I can hardly remember the original DS by now
But I had a lot of fun with it.
Like all the action "rpgs", there is a lot of repitition and slaughter--and at times, enough is enough. But the good ones keep you hooked by making the game difficult at higher levels--every time I hear someone say D2 is mindlessly boring I wonder how far into it they got--because trying to survive in Hell is anything but boring, and having a minor flaw in your character build will send you back to the drawing board quick. Basically these games are like playing a slot machine--you go through a grind to get a payoff. If the payoff isn't a thrill for you, then the grind is meaningless.
And I agree, if you're playing these games for meaningful storylines or good sidequests or npc interaction, you're going to be disappointed. Dungeon Seige II probably gives a little bit more of this traditional rpg stuff--which of course, I also love.
