All right, you discovered my brand new forum 90 minutes before I did! Perspicacious indeed. It's true, I started an indie Flash RPG called Hidden Evil:

At this link you will find the combat demo, which you can start with a party of 5 pcs.
I know this close to nothing about running a forum, so for the moment I've just put up two threads for suggestions and more importantly, bug reporting.

Gratz on your demo.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language…they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

So what's the release date? Is there another demo coming with quests and NPC interaction?
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Congrats on your efforts. I'll give the demo a test drive or two in the near future.

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.
Dallas Cowboys: Can we be done with the offseason? / / Detroit Red Wings: At least we get a new coach

I need feedback, badly. I can see by the counters that people are reading threads and visiting the site.
I've heard that for some people everything chokes up right away, and I've seen this myself on Macs.
If anyone starting HE could take a few seconds to post a thread just saying "It runs fine", or "It's slow and unplayable" it would help.
Everything has always run fine for me and I can't really continue without some kind of advice from users.

1) Very good demo. I played the game for over an hour. I died at the bat cave.
There, I got my ass kicked. Litterally. Didn't take two or three rounds, then Pepe le Pew was slain. Hope you don't mind me calling him after the Walt Disney Skunk!
2) I think that it was a little odd that you could add another Dorn to your party.
I had 5 of them! I think that you should put a command that prevents you from having another one when you already have him in your party.
Not only that, he had the exact same stats as the 1st one.
3) It would be nice if we could see the name of the creature on which we put the mouse icon when we look at what's coming at us. This way, we could better anticipate our next turns depending on the evilness of the beasts…
4) In the 1st fight, some mantis creatures dissapeared before they were killed.
I wasn't sure at first but it also hapened in the 2nd fight also.
One of the bandits just vanished!
5) At one point, wanting to understand a little more about the inventory menu, I wanted to see the stats of the iron helmet. I couldn't see it. The only info I got was of the last object on which the mouse had passed over. I.e. : If I had just passed over a leather armor, that info stayed in the description box. After I had donned the helmet on one of the characters, I didn't have the problem anymore.
6) It is difficult to see the doors to the south. I figured that you just had to look at brown rectanble but I think that a better way to show them is possible.
7) In the inventory meny, it would be nice if we could, when we put the mouse cursor over the E.P. we have, see how many more are needed for the next level. I'm a sucker for this kind of info!
8) On the fight through the south door, the 4th one I think, Thomas walked right through a something Clobberer! He was out of movement points so he stayed there until his next turn. When it arrived, he walked off the creature. Immediately after, the creature vanished from the screen, destroyed by an unknown force…
9) Can we sleep, save, and if yes, is it written in the info you give at the beginning of the game? I printed all 6 pages. Haven't read them yet.
10) To flip through the pages of Mysterio's spellbook, I had to use the bottom right cursor, sort of like the symbol of a hand pointing to the right.
The bottom numbers didn't work.
11) In the cave where the bats are found, the information rectangle slowed down. And speaking of this description box, could it be possible to slow it down or to have the option to screen it, up or down, so we could have a glimpse at the hit points we were taken of to read any kind of info we were just given?
Thanks again for this fun demo.
I'll give it another try when you add something new to it.
BTW, this was my 1st beta testing experience.
I liked it.

Thanks for the comments. You must've been playing the version with the bitmap backgrounds. I've switched to completely vector-based for map backgrounds, to help combat the slowdown issues, so that version will be updated from now on.
I can address a couple of your comments right away:
2) No way should you be able to add another Dorn. I assume I left the testing buttons displayed by mistake.
3) If you *click* on a creature, its name will be displayed
4) I think I resolved the randomly disappearing creatures. Sometimes, killed enemies' graphics do not vanish until the start of the next round, or until you hover over them with your cursor.
7) No XP info because I don't actually have it set yet. In any case, there aren't any level ups in the demo.
8) See (4)
9) No sleeping, no saving.
10) The roman numerals are not page numbers, but multipliers for the effect of your spells (explained in rules)
11) There are 2 arrows on the right to scroll the info box.
