Dungeon Master - Lack of food will stuck me?
December 31st, 2007, 19:59
Not sure if this the right forum but I take my chance. I am playing DM, I am only at level 3 and I see my food backup becoming low when I still have many room to solve and don't find many foods in this level.
I wonder if there is any trick around this? I mean how get the console and what are the cheat codes???
More seriously I feel my "hungry level" decreasing too fast, it's true that I run a lot and more when I fight but can I do anything to slower that?
I tried carry as few stuff than possible but the effect isn't obvious.

Ok I see the point, it's not an assembly of old senior, veterans of all RPG wars and who have play all old RPG at least all the classic one. Nope all of that is pure illusion and disguise, just a collection of newbie that know the names of many old RPG!!!
Anyway I'll help myself :

There are locations with respawning worms - kill them for food supply and training.

As an example of how it can go as well, I - as being unfamiliar withthe SAD&D system - didn't know that a Cleric could let (in the Eye of the Beholder Trilogy) food appear - a "wonder" or "gift" from his or her God.
As I found it out - rather by chance - the dungeon became much more easier for me.

Alix: Well I read in many places that a spell to make appear food is a legend. In Ultima it's a basic thing and not hidden but it's about DM.
HiddenX, ok but where? I'm level 4 in constant famine despite my effort and still haven't seen any place like that. I don't complain too much, it slower a lot my progression but it boost a lot the level up of all my characters, something not bad, really! In fact now I'hve seen that and that for now I gave up struggle against famine, in fact I even do all manual map during the real gameplay.

So long ago…. I have some vague memories that using magical boxes to freeze enemies made them leave more meat for me to chew, but I'm not sure.

If you are running out of food, a stamina spell will
allow your characters to continue to exist until food is found.
prefix with a power symbol
ya Stamina Potion. Great when you run low on food, or a
character becomes overburdened and loses a lot of stamina.

I saw they allow a freeze attack but I was keeping them for very tough cases. Thanks I'll try that.HiddenX : Thanks but if I survive in starvation state it's I already know that isn't it?
Ok thanks for the try.

Besides, my name is Alrik, not Alix.
There's a slight difference between these two.

There should be some Rooms with respawning Screamers, even in the early levels - I prefered Screamer-Pieces to Wormflesh, because they are lighter and give more Food-Points IIRC.
