Hotkey screen swapping
April 4th, 2008, 20:34
To me this feature seems so useful that I do not know why I cannot find a single utility to support it… someone else must have figured it out, maybe I just do not know what to google for.
I have two monitors. A 22" CRT monitor which I consider my "main". It's the one on my desktop that I use when I play games, write documents etc. Then I have a 40" HDTV which I use when I watch webtv, movies and games that supports my wireless joypad.
My computer is equipped with double 8800GTX cards in SLI. Whenever I wish to swap monitors I now have to open the controlpanel and switch monitors manually.
I consider this a bit frustrating, mostly since I have to turn on both monitors whenever I wish to swap screen (so I can go into the control panel and chose the other one). It would be a lot simpler if I had a way to tie "swap monitor" on a hotkey like ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+M or something like that.
Anyone knows an utility that have this function?

when it comes to multiple monitors, UltraMon is the king of the hill.
pricey, though at US$39.95.

Change the primary monitor (Windows 2000/XP and later)
Enables you to quickly change the primary monitor from the UltraMon menu.
