I'll sticky this for a little while. Good info, and gives the added bonus of giving us a chance to point and laugh.

(just playin', GG; I've done far worse)

I was amazed at how fast the download was. Now it's sitting on the back burner while I finish up my current list. Has anyone played The Price of Neutrality enough to comment?

Uh, depends on how much playing time you consider is 'enough' Magey!

I started playing and got about an hour into it and had to restart because of difficulty. It was brutal playing on 'hard'. - But that may be because I didn't build my character right. You get a set allotment of talents at the beginning and that's it - you don't level up. I restarted, again on hard setting, (because I can't stand the flashing sword icon in combat, and because I'm hard core ) but this time I distributed my Silver talents differently. It has made a big difference, but I'm only again about an hour into it.

As far as quality and atmosphere it still fantastic. Needless to say there are no voice recordings so that's a little strange feeling at first, but if you've played the full version it's almost as if you can hear Geralt saying everything anyway. So far I'd even be so bold as to say that the dialogues are a noticeablestep above the original. If this is what we have to look forward to with the EE it will be incredible.

I've said elsewhere that the music bears a strong resemblance to the first Gothic score - I think it's the deep throaty horns. As for the world, I don't know if the outside area of Kaher Moren is a new location or not (I only made it to beginning of chap 3 in full version mind you) but it is beautifully rendered. I'm in awe at how realistic and atmospheric the misty mountain backdrop is. You can almost feel the chilly moisture laden air.

As a follow up I just finished the add-on tonight. I made a mistake in my first post regarding level-ups. I achieved a new level, but never meditated to distribute talents before the game ended. It was not necessary anyhow. I seem to recall somewhere it being said the new adventure would take around 5 playing hours. It's more like 2 - and I'm a slow-poke. The ending was a little underwhelming, especially since I was banking on another 3 hours or so. An enjoyable little adventure, but it didn't last long enough.

I don't know how difficult D'jinni is to master - I certainly won't have time, but I have a feeling there are going to be a plethora of new mods out there. That could be a good thing or bad. At this point I'm thinking I will have to be selective or else I could waste a whole lot of time on less than par storytelling.

The add-on was always adverised as 2 hours gameplay long Jabberwocky. As for modules you are right of course, there will be (just like with Morrowind and Oblivion) a lot of fluff especially in early days. But, with time, there should be enough modules of sufficient quality to enjoy TW for a while yet

The Landscape was used in the intro to TW, and you can see it from the walls of Kaer Morhen.

Just a note for those who might miss it on the front page that CDProjekt announced today the EE will be coming out in September--all language versions, apparently, at the same time. I'll be glad if they make that deadline and it hits the shelves before Christmas so it can get some individual love.
