Faster graphics card, or more graphics ram?

Well I have 2gb ram and I could not run high texture detail.
Now I have a x1950xt.. and can't run high texture detail still - instead of bad frame rate (fps is now 40 something) I have a very bad stutter every few metres until I've gone around a town quite a bit then it smooths out. But it's unplayable when you enter a town.

I agree with those who are saying that RAM is the most important thing in Gothic 3. As long as your vid card is direct x 9 and your CPU is more than 2ghz you should be ok if you have 2 gigs of RAM.
Case in point… G3(demo) runs pretty crappy on my system even though I have a Core 2 Duo E6700 and a X1950XTX vid card. I only have 1024 of RAM right now.
No matter how fast your CPU and Video card are, G3 is going to stutter with less than 2 gigs of RAM unless there is something that can be fixed with a patch.
