Gettings cheats to work, "give X"

Greetings

This is my first post on these boards and My first question is a dull one.

I wish to learn how to use the give cheat properly, I have successfully used godmode and whatnot before, but the give command just won't work.

Think is I did a mistake, I am trying to complete the rearmament quests with vandorn in the capital. Thing is I sold out every saw and hammer I had come across, some 15 levels later when I realiced this it was to late. I was hoping to use the give command to give me saws, bundles of weapons and hammers (not smithing hammers, regular ones).

I've tried variations of it like this:

"Give It_Saw"
This gives the reponse:
"Added 1x it_saw to the players inventory"

But That's pure bullshit, despite what the console says no saws are added. Quite annoying.

Use spawn -> works much better and you can quickly see if your cheat really worked.
small remark is that the best pov is close to the nameless hero but not first person. Otherwise stuff can either get stuck in mid-air or you need to walk a bit first to pick it up.

How do you open this console?

On my keyboard it's the button above tab (3/2).

You can use give but you need to type it wihout the capital letter "G"

It doesn't work well when you're patched to the latest version of the game. Spawn will work every time

Give works fine for me, and its easier because if you spawn it you have to pick it up.
