Right. It's kind of like... if you want to play System Shock today do you really need to spend $70 on ebay to do it? Of course not, EA would see none of that money anyway. Go ahead and download it. Similarly if Steam is dead and you want to play Skyrim in 20 years just download it... no one will care.

The only real danger to that line of thinking is if the internet becomes much more closed off or regulated in the future.

Well i don't know..maybe I am old fashion...I have bought the odd game online steam and gog but I go to the store and buy them...
