Paris, France, November 23, 2021 at 6:00pm CET - Atari SA and its subsidiaries (the "Atari Group"), one of the world's most iconic consumer brands and interactive entertainment producers, today announced an up to US$3.5 Million strategic investment in Antstream Limited and a related option to purchase the assets of Mobygames, Limited, including the Mobygames website and database. The investment in Antstream Limited was made pursuant to a convertible loan agreement that can be converted into equity of Antstream Limited in a future financing, with an initial investment of US$500,000. The option to purchase the assets of Mobygames is at a purchase price of US$1.5 Million and may be concluded by the end of March, 2022.
In addition, Atari has completed the sale of certain non-fungible token parcels of land in The Sandbox to a third party. Atari received a cash payment of US$4,284,000.

That virtual land sale sounds like someone took the premise of Shroud of the Avatar to an obscene level. People truly will buy anything, I suppose. I am curious as to what Atari will do with the items of this purchase, time will tell.

Atari was the seller not the purchaser.
Unless you're referring to Antstream and MobyGames in which case they'll probably just stamp their name on the sites.

Yeah, I was referring to the three words that followed Atari. Of course that's only an option, so we'll see what happens there.

Mobygames is super useful for researching old games, and they're obviously a ton of old RPGs. It would be unfortunate if it is sold to Atari in my view. Then again, good on the developers of that website for making some money if that's how it works out.

How is this company still relevant? As after the bankruptcy they lost almost everything.

Just when you finally think Atari is licked, they attempt another….comeback? Or something, I'm not quite sure what it is, tbh.
