As stated, you only need an authenticator to use Bnet's Balance method. If you have a PayPal account, you only need to have a cel phone that accepts text messages. I personally set up the PayPal SMS alerts to enable the RMAH. And then I sold a Legendary Ring I found weeks ago for $83.35, which is exactly $70 after fees! I was kind of shocked that it sold!
Just today PayPal put the money into my bank account. Wow. In two days, the RMAH has paid for the game. But note, none of my friends have managed to sell anything. I just happened to find a really, really nice ring, 10% dodge, 10% attack speed, 60 Vit, 60 Int.
I predict prices on the RMAH will drop very quickly, hence why I put my ring up ASAP. And I did my research and priced the ring to sell since others were mostly at the $100-250 range. So my point is my results aren't typical. I got real lucky and acted quickly on that good fortune.
