The ever-popular "Currently Listening" thread

Nice, Arhu! :)

Classic deep house instrumental. This one has great saxophone and organ. Love this stuff still. Too bad I couldn't fine a CD rip on the tube.
Chocolate City - Love Songs (Like House For Chocolate Mix)

More organ and key instrumentals from Deep Dish. With very nice jazzy keys. Hypnotic.
Deep Dish Presents Prana ‎– The Dream

This one has a nice vocal and is more trancey.
Deep Dish with Everything But The Girl - The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold)

And another blast from the past. It's more techno / harder, but still deep. Again no digital rips found.
Alcatraz - Give me Luv (Original Mix)

Finally, a late 90's disco houser with vocals.
Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough (Vocal Club Mix)

Monday indulgences never seem to end, do they? ;)
Another lengthy great trance remix by the Trousers. Always loved this vocal and the phasing of the choral / string / synth sounds.
Planet Perfecto - Bullet in the Gun (Mekka vs Trouser Enthusiasts Remix)
The original which is very similar, a bit harder. Difficult choice. Most excellent.
Planet Perfecto - Bullet in the Gun (Saturday Remix)
2000 remix has the more techno end part up moved up front.
Planet Perfecto - Bullet in the Gun 2000 (2000 Club Remix)
Finally Solar Stone took a whack at it. And was ultimately very successful, I think. :)

This one is a real gem a friend of mine found on a random sampler album.

Moodorama - 5 Minutes of Porn

"Moodorama is a German musician's collective from Regensburg that is committed to electronic music. Moodorama's music is variously influenced by the genres jazz, lounge music, bossa nova and house music."

How about this one? The guest vocal at the very end is fabulous. Did a little googling and apparently that's the only singing she did. Too bad.

So does everyone remember their begats?

Frozen Ghost came from
Sherriff
and became
Alias
(although the vocals sound very similar, Alias had a different singer)

As for me, I don't really like Deep House sounds, perhaps a few exceptions.

But, all of the Planet Perfecto-Bullet in the gun remixes are great. Sounds awesome! Specially the Solar Stone and Trousers and Mekka RMX.
So it will be on repeat a few times, hehe.
I first heard it in one of Tiesto's Club Life. Again I mention Tiesto. :)

I think Thrasher will value these two music tracks.

The other day I heard Alan Walker - Faded
A nice melodic electro sounds. I swore that the vocalist is Ellie Goulding. I thought that the song is hears , some RMX perhaps.
But, it turns out, that the vocalist is Iselin Solheim.
I just listened to a Ellie Goulding song, yeah, not similar with Iselin. :)
Iselin has much better voice. Somehow, more clean and sweeter too, and she even looks sweeter. :)
And here is a nice one from Iselin Solheim - The wizard of us

That's another blast from the past. Thanks for the refresher. :)
Oh yes. :)
The other day I heard Alan Walker - Faded
Nice. :)
Here's another. An instrumental from him.
Alan Walker - Force
:)

May we trance, a bit more…

Running the Hooj Choons catalog to revive some neurons. I came across this goodie from '95. Pretty much instrumental.
Chakka Boom Bang - Tossing And Turning (Red Jerry Mix)

Which reminded me to point to the (in)famous classic (a merge of techno, dream trance, and trance)…
Sash! - Ecuador (Original 12")

youtube led me to this, another classic, from even earlier (1990). Piano house with trance elements.
N-Joi - Anthem (Original Mix)

Just bought & listened to David Bowie's final farewell Album Blackstar.

In the words of his producer and manager.
"He made 'Blackstar' for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be." "His death was no different from his life -- a work of Art."

Bowie had already finished Blackstar by November. But even before then, Visconti noticed the tone of some of the lyrics and told him, "You canny bastard. You're writing a farewell album." Bowie simply laughed in response. "He was so brave and courageous," says Visconti. "And his energy was still incredible for a man who had cancer. He never showed any fear. He was just all business about making the album."

So I actually took the time to do a little exploring for once. Found some interesting "new" stuff (new to me for certain, largely new to everyone) and thought maybe I'd get away from recycling songs.

Shoegazing goodness. Enjoy.

Nice isn't it? I am sorry they have just changed singers, the new one is probably musically better but less distinctive. PM me and I can pint you at more by them if you want.

Another song that I've dredged up that revives some great memories. This one is harder house + trance vibes + a big piano build up / break. Sort of all over the place. It's a vocal stomper from Fresh Records.

S.G.H. - Losing You (Strike Mix) - 1995

1995 was an amazing year (for me).

Venturing almost to speed house (aka UK garage) is this one.
Strike - I Have Peace (Uno Clio 12'' Mix)
Very hypnotic, with some nice funky. Jazzy snyth breaks. Also Fresh Records. You have to get past the loopy intro section to get to the good stuff.

Another one I had forgotten. This is a great uplifting vocal trance number. Also by Strike. How could I forget that heavenly voice?
Strike - Inspiration - 1996
These versions are better. No video, no great loss. :)
Strike - Inspiration (Kaleidoskope Backdrop)
Strike - Inspiration (Direct Hits Remix) - nicely done DJ remix service mixup of the other mixes and bits of other Strike tracks.

And finally, a somewhat mellow vocal dream trance song from Hooj Choons I remember fondly.
Lustral - Everytime (Red Jerry Mix)
and the sublime and somewhat minimal remix by Nalin and Kane
