ATOM RPG - New Update & Halloween Event 2020
Hey, guys!

Some of you missed it last time, But this year it came back with a vengeance from the beyond. Our spooky Halloween event is out for blood yet again! And this time no platform, mobile or otherwise will be spared from waves of grotesque horrors.

Will you risk having thy flesh consumed by the fangs of the unruly evil with perfect hatred and no remorse? Those who survive will surely be rewarded. You'll just have to find a special random encounter on the global map if you dare.

If you do not dare, or find such festive events silly, which is totally understandable, the optional content can be easily turned off in the main menu.

Apart from the optional content, this version also contains some delightfully devilish new features that will make slow machines run the game better.

There is also some amazing news from our Italian translation team which launched the final stage of the translation mod.

See it here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/552620/discussions/1/1644304412661712169/

Now tremble, before the full infernal glory of this updates horrific changelog:

- Added the spooky Halloween event (till November 3rd);
- Improved loading times on video cards with capacity of 2 gb+;
- Fixed minor issues reported to us on Steam and other forums;
- Fixed minor sound glitches.

Fangs for reading, and let there be ATOM!
Anthem Javelin Gameplay & Builds Update - Developer Blog
Hello Friends!

Here we are again with the NEXT Anthem blog. Better late than never, really excited to share a glimpse into the thoughts and ideas behind the great work the team has been exploring. I hope this finds you well and everyone is staying safe.

As discussed on Twitter, this blog will focus around the ideas being tested with Javelin gameplay, builds, and skill trees. The design team (with your feedback) has put together what we feel are the main opportunities for improvement with the current systems and the high level goals we're experimenting with. Side note: the picture above is not Star Destroyer ASCII art, but an actual skill tree in Frostbite!

ATOM RPG Trudograd Next big update announcement
Work on the next big update for the Early Access is going as planned, that's why we decided it's high time we announce some of our work to prepare you for what awaits in the future.

First off, new plot related missions are being prepared to take you to new locations and make you meet exciting new characters. New random encounters are also being added to the city map.
Black Legend We are the Warcave
When it comes to games, we search for only the most passionate individuals. Black Legend was born from such passion, where we aspired to share the historical and folkloric culture of our country with the world through beautiful, immersive gameplay.

To do so, we took this challenge very seriously, diving deep in all manners of resources, from visiting some of the most amazing historical locations right here in Belgium, to exploring museums in the Netherlands as well as jumping straight down the rabbit hole of 17th Century science, trade and arts.

As we continue to work on our project, we wish to leave you with a word of thanks for your continued support and interest in the game.

On behalf of the entire studio, we hope to see you in Grant soon!
Project Witchstone Dev Blog Q&A #1: The Art of Project Witchstone
For this Dev Blog update, we wanted to do something a little different, and give you a more one-on-one insight into a specific part of our work on Witchstone. We found some time to drag our artist Yan away and grill him with a ton of questions about the game for your amusement.
EVERSPACE 2 and Path of Exile Expansion delayed due to Cyberpunk 2077
As Grinding Gear stated:

Yesterday, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released on December 10. We do not want to put our players in a position of having to choose between these two games, so we have decided to step out of the way and delay the release of Path of Exile 3.13 until January.

We still expect to finish 3.13 by early/mid-December. The scope of this expansion will remain unchanged. During the month of delay before release, we will start work on the 3.14 expansion.

Rockfish Games added:

We know from our community that there is quite an audience overlap between the two titles, so we decided to get out of the way and push back our release to January. We are aware that EVERSPACE 2 fans will be unhappy, but competing with the arguably most anticipated video game in history isn't the best idea.
Where Is Dying Light 2? - GameInformer
Recently we wrote up about the returning Left 4 Dead 2 crossover to the first Dying Light. Immediately, the comments about "what happened to Dying Light 2" swarmed following several major changes happening behind-the-scenes. Following the in-depth look at the anticipated sequel during E3 2019, Techland has parted ways with key members of its team and placed the upcoming game under the 'delayed indefinitely' label. This begs the question: what is going on with Dying Light 2?

Wasteland 3 "Bison's Meat Delivery"

We're excited to announce that Wasteland 3 has surpassed 1 million players! As a thank you, we're releasing a short film we shot a few years ago as a mood piece to help us set the look and feel of what a post-apocalyptic Colorado could be like. We hope you enjoy it.
The Outer Worlds Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky Interview - GOG
Recently we spoke with Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, the co-designers of The Outer Worlds game. Here's what they shared with us on the brilliant RPGs development process and many inspirations behind its story.GOG.COM:

How did you come up with the idea for this great sci-fi RPG? Was it one big revelation, or did The Outer Worlds' unique setting and story take shape slowly?

Tim Cain: Leonard will want to weigh in on this, but from my recollection, the game's setting and the story came together fairly quickly. We agreed on so many elements early, like what technology would be like, how the corporations would act, and that the colony was distant and struggling. I think the visual look of the game was the hardest element to nail down.

Leonard Boyarsky: As soon as we started talking about what we wanted to do things started to fall into place pretty quickly, and, even though we hadn't worked together for a while, we fell back into our old creative roles immediately, with Tim bringing the silly and me bringing the dark, and both of us riffing off each other to find the offbeat humor we both love. I think the visual look was the hardest because, besides having a lot of ideas we wanted to explore, we also needed to define our own distinctive look.
Darkest Dungeon II Interview - PC Gamer
Last week we learned that the follow-up to one of our favorite turn-based games of the last decade, Darkest Dungeon 2, is arriving next year in Early Access. But we still don't know much about how it will play, where it takes place, or what big changes to expect. What's up with the icy mountain we saw in 2019's trailer? Will I still have to fight terrifying soup?

What new characters will we send to die? Although we're still waiting for these hard details about systems, setting, and characters, I had a chance to prod Red Hook Studios' co-founders Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman about the general direction this sequel is taking, as well as its inspiration and the development process so far. Darkest Dungeon 2, as it turns out, is changing in some unexpected ways.

Discussed in this interview:

  • What going 3D means for Darkest Dungeon
  • The creative direction of monsters and heroes
  • Why Darkest Dungeon 2 might be less depressing than you'd think
  • Don't expect identical ominous voice lines for narrator Wayne June
  • How Red Hook is managing Early Access, and the expectations of a sequel

Going Nuclear: The Story of Todd Howard & Bethesda

I don't know if it was in this interview, but Todd said the overhaul to the engine in the next TES game will be the biggest they've done so far, even bigger than that one from Morrowind to Oblivion. I'm interested to see this :)

Here is a bullet point for those who don't want to watch the hour long video.
  • Starfield is a singleplayer, no multiplayer aspects.
  • A focus on procedural generation during level design confirmed for Starfield and TES:VI
    • This is a tool for developers to create massive landmass and does not mean the land will be randomly generated in real time like No Man's Sky, meaning your game will look the exact same as everyone else. This is simply an engine tool to create larger worlds, so expect Starfield (planets?) to be much larger than Fallout 76's map (clarification: speculative), which is already four times bigger than Skyrim. YOUR ELDER SCROLLS/STARFIELD MAP WILL LOOK THE EXACT SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE MAP WILL BE RANDOMLY GENERATED.
  • **Huge major overhaul to the Creation Engine - larger than the jump from Morrowind to Oblivion ("**when people see the results, hopefully they'd be as happy as we are.")
    • Rendering
    • Animation
    • Artificial Intelligence & Pathing
    • Procedural Generation
    • And more areas.
  • It's going to be a while until we see Starfield, the release can be subject to delays etc. so he really doesn't feel comfortable talking about it yet.
    • He doesn't want to reveal Starfield earlier and just release teasers until the eventual release like Cyberpunk.
  • NPCs will play a large role in future games, cities will be expansive and large compared to past games, etc.
  • Will be on Game Pass from Day 1 alongside ES:VI.
  • Bethesda will continue to support mod support in the future.
  • Amount of developers are at least 4x - 5x larger than they were when they worked on Skyrim and Fallout 4. Starfield is going to be big.
    • Bethesda Games Studio Dallas, Maryland and Montreal are working on Starfield.
    • Bethesda Games Austin is in charge of Fallout 76's post-development with the Brotherhood of Steel expansion update coming this December.

Encased Development Update #12 - Factions that divided the Dome

Koch Media and WoTc partner for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance
Koch Media GmbH, a leading, global publishing partner and Wizards of the Coast announced today that both companies are entering into a physical publishing agreement for the co-op action RPG Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. With its extensive local marketing and communications experience and networks, Koch Media will be fully responsible for physical publishing activities around the world.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance was announced in 2019 at The Game Awards. A spiritual successor to the original video game series, Dark Alliance features popular characters created by best-selling fantasy author R.A. Salvatore, hacking and slashing their way through the icy tundra of Icewind Dale. The third-person action RPG will allow up to four players to take on legendary monsters from the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse as one of four unique characters, including the scimitar-wielding drow, Drizzt Do'Urden or one of his unique companions Cattie-Brie, Bruenor or Wulfgar. The game features local or online co-op and will release on consoles and PC (digital only) in 2021.

We're confident that Koch Media's expertise and reputation as a leading global publishing partner for video games will be beneficial on our quest to launch Dark Alliance, said Chris Cocks, President and CEO of Wizards of the Coast. This partnership is a natural choice for us as we continue to find new ways to bring unique Dungeons & Dragons experiences to life for our growing global fanbase.

Koch Media's CEO Klemens Kundratitz adds: We are delighted to welcome Wizards of the Coast as a new partner for our global publishing business. The high standards they set for their franchises and the passion behind their games ensure us that Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is a perfect fit for our wide portfolio and will be a major success for both companies.

King's Bounty II Previews

WCCFTech
Is King's Bounty II too ambitious for its own good? Perhaps. The game isn't going to replace The Witcher or Dragon Age any time soon, and yet, I could see its solid strategic combat, morality system, and unique army management attracting an audience. Will that audience be large enough to justify 1C Entertainment's investment (over 135 people are working on the game)? That remains to be seen. I'm willing to give King's Bounty II a chance, but I''m not quite ready to declare it a proper heir to the throne yet.
GameWatcher
Our first good look at King's Bounty II revealed a promising turn-based strategy game that sticks to what made its predecessors so fun to play while also adopting more modern elements.

Traversing the world in third-person and jumping into cinematic cutscenes at important points during quests is a welcome addition. It has the potential to flesh out the world and story in a way that previous games didn't quite manage to, especially if the developer irons out the technical kinks present in the demo.

Chad Moore Interview - Gamebanshee
Given his pedigree of role-playing game contributions that have spanned over two decades of design work, art direction, programming, production management, and more, Chad Moore really shouldn't need an introduction. But despite seeing his name attached to so many classic RPGs, from Fallout 2 to Arcanum to VtM: Bloodlines, we really don't know much about the person behind the name or what he's currently cooking up in secrecy over at inXile Entertainment these days.
Cyber Knights: Flashpoint - October Progress Report
Cory and I are beyond excited about the progress we’ve made on the game over the past year. Sometimes it is easy to get stressed about individual milestones and internal delays, but as we hit our stride in Q4 of 2020, we are taking a moment to look back with deep gratitude for all that you, our backers, have given us. Cyber Knights has now been in the works for almost two years if you include all the planning and build up to the Kickstarter and the wild ride since. But we’ve been dreaming about it for a lot longer. This game is built on a campaign world more than 10 years in the making, and each of you who joined us as backers have become part of this decade-long journey.

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes set to release on December 3rd
Today, publisher Merge Games and developer Still Running announced that Morbid: The Seven Acolytes will be released for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on December 3 2020. Morbid was initially announced during the Future Games Show this past summer, and it is described as a "horrorpunk action RPG filled with Lovecraftian horrors and Cronenbergian gore".
Trails Of Cold Steel IV: The 5 Best (& The 5 Worst) Things About The Game
The developers at Falcom are unique in that they have always simply done their own thing when it comes to their games. Both the Ys series and The Legend of Heroes series have been around for a while and still haven't quite found the same recognition as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or the Tales of series.

However, that doesn't seem to matter to these developers, as they seem to be perfectly comfortable doing what they've always done best at creating their own fan-pleasing sagas, even if that means they only appeal to a much smaller and niche audience. It's thanks to this mindset that fans of JRPGs have one of the most incredibly developed worlds in gaming at their fingertips with this particular franchise. However, stepping into a universe as deep and well-established as this one can be as daunting as it is amazing.

Major update for Baldur's Gate & Icewind Dale Enhanced Editions is in beta
It's been years since Beamdog released their enhanced editions of the original Baldur's Gate games and Icewind Dale, but the studio has announced it is planning to update them, with a "BIG 2.6 Patch" for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition in the works. The patch notes include plenty of fixes for the sequel, and Icewind Dale as well.

The highlights of version 2.6 will be a shift to 64-bit executables, "hundreds of bug fixes including many spell fixes", improvements to pathfinding and multiplayer stability, the addition of the Adventurers of Neverwinter portraits to all three games, and French text localization for Baldur's Gate 2.

I can't say I am surprised that there was some immense backlash for this particular video game review, these people are obsessed with being godless heathens.

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness Update #39 - New Release Window
Ho there, adventurers,

First and foremost, thank you for your continuous feedback on the Backer Beta. Thanks to your bug reports and suggestions, we have managed to fix many unknown and subtle bugs and improve the overall experience of playing Black Geyser.

Our studio had several talks lately, both as a team and with our partners and investors. We came to realize that Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness has become a bigger project than we ever imagined. Which is a great thing. On the other hand, huge projects require tons of refinements, polishing and Quality Assurance. Black Geyser is no exception. Taking this into account, we have concluded that Black Geyser will be released in early 2021.

Some reward tiers for Kickstarter and Crowdfunding rewards require input from backers. If you have such a reward tier, we will contact you for your input during January. Thank you for your patience!

With launch coming early next year, we are going to start updating you more often. We are getting close and its time to start getting prepared for Black Geyser!
