Looks good but as said by others it looks nothing like it's predecessors.

If the gameplay is similar to first game, I'm interested.
The graphical changes are not bad, but it's a bit too generic.

True but I'm personally glad for that. I liked the previous games a lot but by the time I got to the last one, I was feeling worn out by the "sameness" of them all. I'm glad they're trying to freshen up the formula and I hope it works.

I would wager Gears Tactics was better than this will be, since I could play the former for at least 15 minutes, before lack of tactics options blew my fuse: uninstall / refund.

Well the fact it's a different developer and publisher probably has something to do with the changes. I agree the last game with it's many expansions looked the same.

I enjoyed the first two games but was burned-out on the formula by the time they released the viking-themed one. Maybe it's a good thing they're taking this title in a different direction. It's not a sequel to the previous games anyways.

Folks, I know this is ENTIRELY off-topic but since Mercy also mentioned an entirely off-topic game here…

Well, Mercy, if you played only 15 minutes then you must have played only the tutorial. What Gears Tactics lacks is base management (unlike XCOM 2), but if you're talking about tactics in combat… No way, you can't say Gears Tactics doesn't have them. It has lots of tactics options and skills, its combat is even more tactical than XCOM 2, which is a good game IMHO.

You may not like tactical squad games and OK, that's another story entirely. But you play 15 mins and comes off saying the game has or hasn't this or that, ha c'mon!!

Again, sorry for the off-topic post!!

Well, I'll just echo henriquejr's comments that Gears tactical play is really well done. One of the best games from a tactics perspective - even though it does not have much gameplay outside of that.

Gameplay is quite different, its more like typical 3D RPG with tactical TB combat and squad (army) management.

See this video with eng subs:

In fairness that could describe the old kings bounty as well. I tried to watch the video but I hate long review videos in general and there is now way I was getting through one in Russian with subtitles. But I’d be curious about any concrete information on changes from anyone who does watch it.
