As far as Starfield goes, the jury is still way out. It could be great or it could be Fallout 76 all over again; a giant map with very little to do on it. At least it has NPC's this time from the beginning.

Turn-Based Cyberpunk RPG Keylocker Final Days - Kickstarter

loading…

Fuel your moves with the electric power of music in this unforgiving planet by using real-time execution of moves in rhythm game style! Might & Magic X Legacy Returns to Steam - Ubisoft
On June 1st, we made the decision to remove Might & Magic X - Legacy from sale following an unexpected issue that occurred after we shut down various services for cosecurity reasons, which prevented players from accessing some parts of the game and its DLCs. Our teams have spent the last few months investigating and testing the different solutions to make sure players' experience lives up to our standards in terms of quality of service.

Today, we're happy to announce that all conditions are met to bring the game back to the Ubisoft store and to Steam, and that new and returning players can now venture into the wide and mysterious world of Ashan again. In addition to the base game, we also took this opportunity to give all fans of Might & Magic X - Legacy the freedom to extend their adventure by accessing the DLC "The Falcon & the Unicorn", entirely for free.
King's Bounty II Review - Gamebanshee
1C has released some nice patches for King's Bounty II since its release, and they've fixed some of the more obvious problems with the game, like the lack of a quick save button, and the poorly-implemented tooltips. I didn't have any major problems with the game during the 60+ hours I spent playing it (including no crashes at all), but a couple of skills and talents don't seem to work as described, so either they're described poorly or they're broken, take your pick.

But 1C didn't do itself any favors by having the game end with "to be continued." Nobody likes that, regardless of the medium (or maybe you're still waiting with bated breath for the Alita: Battle Angel sequel). With some developers (like, say, Larian or ZA/UM), I'd be hopeful that the game just shipped slightly incomplete, and that eventually a free content DLC would flesh everything out, but in this case I suspect that 1C is hoping that people will pay to see the ending, and purchase some extra DLC. If so, then bleh on them.

Still, I enjoy turn-based strategy games, and even with the negatives I've pointed out in this review, King's Bounty II worked well enough for me. It's not as good as King's Bounty: The Legend, with less than half the options and content, but it gets enough things right to be worth playing. So I'm giving the game a borderline recommendation, but you're probably better off waiting for some more patches and a decent sale before buying it.
Blade of Darkness and Its Dark Souls Parallels - Eurogamer
When it originally launched in 2001, Severance: Blade of Darkness was known as the game in which you could beat enemies to death with their own limbs. But this grisly little factoid isn't actually true. You can beat enemies to death with other enemies' limbs, which if anything is more depraved, but the idea you can lop a goblin's arm off and then cave in their skull with the bloody end is a myth.

Then again, Blade of Darkness is a game suited to myth. The action RPG developed by defunct Spanish developer Rebel Act Studios has spent much of its existence trapped in a realm of legal limbo. But it has recently been unleashed from its copyright dungeon by publisher SNEG, relaunching on Steam with a slightly abridged title and some much-needed support for modern screens and machines.

What's most fascinating about this re-release, however, is the game's Steam description, which reads "Blade of Darkness is a hardcore fantasy action-adventure with unique combat mechanics and role-playing elements that pioneered the 'soulsborne' genre". It's a line fit for comedy double-takes. I thought Blade of Darkness was a game about chopping the legs off orcs, when did it suddenly become the progenitor of Dark Souls?

Monark JRPG Interview from Ex-Shin Megami Tensei Devs
Monark is an upcoming RPG from Japanese developer FuRyu. Boasting talented individuals who previously worked at Atlus on the Shin Megami Tensei games, there's plenty of reason to believe that this latest project is worth keeping an eye on.

We were lucky enough to get an interview with Fuyuki Hayashi, who's behind the planning, scenario, and direction of Monark. We asked Hayashi-san about the game, its characters, and the inspiration behind it.

Spire of Sorcery had a rather cool art style from the short video I saw. May look into that more.

For KB2 "But 1C didn't do itself any favors by having the game end with "to be continued.""

Ugg I would be so annoyed to play a game and have that be at the end. Game stopper for me really.

In a statement, CD Projekt Red says The Molasses Flood will work closely with its new parent studio, but won't be merged with any existing teams and will "keep their current identity." How Fallout 76 Became a Surprise Hit with Japanese Players - IGN
Because of the need to remove and alter content for the Japanese market, Bethesda had previously released Fallout games in Japan a month or two after their global launch. But the publisher decided to buck this trend with Fallout 76, debuting it day and date with the rest of the world. The simultaneous release didn't prevent Japanese players from criticizing Fallout 76 for many of the same reasons others did. But, as Fallout 76 gradually improved, the Japanese player base quickly distinguished itself as one of the most surprising and creative communities to come out of the game' changing fortune.

Wasteland 3 Weapon Props with Mark Cordory Creations
Normally when you see a video game weapon prop some super-genius craftsperson played a game, zeroed in on something awesome, and then brought it to life using their hands and weird putties and clays.

That's not what happened here. This is the backwards tale of us commissioning some physical Wasteland props to display in our offices, and then using them as reference to create models and textures for the Cult of the Holy Detonation expansion as weapons you can play with.

When we commissioned these pieces, we worked with one of the best, Mark Cordory. We asked if he'd be up for answering some of our naive questions, and he amazingly agreed.

Queen's Wish: The Conqueror - Major Queen's Wish Update!
We have updated Queen's Wish: The Conqueror to v1.1. The new version has completely revamped creature graphics and lots of small improvements. They're great improvements for our retro indie adventure.

We just had a successful Kickstarter for the next game in the Queen's Wish trilogy, Queen's Wish 2: The Tormentor. Part of the funds for that are going into improved graphics, and we wanted to get that art into the first game.

Queen's Wish 2 should be out in 2022. Enjoy!
Witcher Celebrates Its 14th Anniversary, It's Time For A Remake - TheGamer
So we come down to a full remake, which would likely be a project on the scale of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I don’t see CDPR treating it as a normal project, it would probably want to expand on its original vision with deeper characters, a more expansive storyline, and perhaps references to its sequels that will make its audience feel more at home. Many of the people I’ve spoken to who adore Wild Hunt often speak of its predecessors with trepidation, noting they’ve either never played them at all or dabbled with them and noticed they didn’t hold the same appeal as the bustling streets of Novigrad or the frosty mountains of Skellige. While some might view this as a bummer, it can also be interpreted as an opportunity, an open goal for CDPR to venture into its back catalogue and introduce these games to millions of people for the very first time. Whether this is through a remake, re-release, or a remaster - all of them feel like a no-brainer.
One year of BG 3: An adventure in Failure and Success - Gamesindustry.biz
When we talk to him this time around -- shortly after EGX, which marked Larian's return to physical events -- he's actually in Canada, on a tour to visit all Larian studios across the world. Vincke has been catching up with his teams, travelling for an entire month after a year and a half of staying put. And while the obstacles linked to the pandemic are still fresh in his mind, the greatest hurdle the team is facing is linked to the pressure it puts on itself, and nothing else.

"The biggest challenge is just getting everything done," Vincke says. "There's just so much, it's a very large project with a lot of ambitions with an insane amount of permutations, and making sure that everybody will have fun, regardless if you're a cleric of Shar or a Barbarian-Paladin-Druid multi-class.
"In terms of scope, you start with ambitions to do everything and then as the realities of production hit you, you say: 'Maybe not that, maybe not that'. That is the way it works, right? For us this project is certainly the most challenging one that we've done, just because of our sheer ambition of getting the polish level so high."
Darkest Dungeon II - Message from Devs
Darkest Dungeon's challenging roguelike series has amassed a loyal and dedicated following with its challenging gameplay and unforgiving nature. The original title was released back in 2015 to much praise from fans, and over six years later, the sequel hits Early Access on Steam.

The founders of Red Hook Studios made a statement alongside the Early Access launch. The message thanks fans for their dedication thus far while letting them know that Darkest Dungeon 2 is an Early Access title. Darkest Dungeon may not feel as complete as its predecessor does upon its debut. The team at Red Hood Studios is working hard to make the sequel more significant and better over time but aims to remain transparent with everyone purchasing the game and curb expectations.
