The only game I played that was listed from 2016 was Grim Dawn, so I chose that.
For what it is, a hack and slash action rpg, it is excellent.
The games I chose for most looking forward to were Torment - Tides of Numenera, Vampyr, and Divinity Original Sin 2.
I think Vampyr looks especially intriguing and atmospheric, and also have heard good things about Tides of Numenera, and it looks like they are making a very interesting story based rpg.
A couple games that I have been playing recently, older shooters, that I think are great in certain ways, these are games that I am only now getting around too:
Doom 3: BFG edition - This game has been given a lot of guff, and is looked at badly by a lot of FPS fans, and given many negative reviews, but its actually a great game, with excellent levels and design, and a simple but classic sci fi story that keeps things moving and interesting. Very under rated game in my opinion. The way they bring the Mars base alive with the science projects in the facility and the various realistic seeming machines, and all of this using very old graphical technology to boot, is amazing.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Wow, this game really surprised me, its fantastic, with great set pieces and various pulse pounding levels of military shooting, and lots of exotic places for the settings, such as in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. This game actually is highly rated and its well deserved, probably one of the best modern shooters, and a lot better than many of the more recent shooters to me, that look very crappy these days, with stupid gimmicks everywhere, and games mainly meant for multi player gaming, with single player campaigns very often an afterthought.
