Black Geyser - Listen to the Music

Doesn't matter if i'm playing Warcraft 1 or Supreme Commander. It's still inspired by Dune 2 (yes I know there were similar RTSs before. Let us not get pedantic).
You had to bring up Dune didn't you? I curse ye. Only kidding.

So many fond memories playing Dune II, Dune 2000, & Emperor: Battle for Dune. Tis a shame we will not ever see another modern day remake. I'll go cry in the corner now.

At least I have Dune Wars: Revival for Civilization IV to play.

I don't believe there's something that people like more than pizza.
It's the food of gods and can be made in so many ways.

No one has ever accused pizza to be a clone. Well as far as I know.

Now the snowball is rolling down hill. I'm going to have to dust off my old copy.

I'm more of a burger guy, but I can't turn down a good pie on special occasions.

Well a little off-topic but at least two new movies are in the works. Apparently the investors want to make Dune the next Star Wars. All I can say is I feel a disturbance.

SCFY also made two short mini-series a few years back.

I remember the mini-series, was not bad.

I'm a Villeneuve fan, so looking forward to it! At least, more so than if it was some half-baked money grab like the Dungeons and Dragons movie.

And Lionheart

That's kind of the point of Infinity Engine style RPGs ;)

The only thing all these games have is that they are RPGs and are isometric. At the same rate you can also include Diablo, all of its clones, first two Fallouts, NWN for a small list.

Black Geyser looks like a copy/paste job of PoE, right down to the exact same interface.

When it comes to it being only a pizza-sized gamble, I look at it a little differently. I tend to think about crowdfunding pitches in a sort of community-centric way; I look at it as people wanting 50 grand from us, rather than 15 bucks from me. I think there is only so much money and goodwill to go around, and the failures take their toll on the prospects of solid projects. So, I guess that perspective makes me take it a little more seriously (not that seriously, though :p).

How would Diablo fit in there? I think the most obvious trait about that list is that they're all party-based games.

Why don't you be more open minded and try something more authentic then? :p

The special thing about pizza is that in a certain way it's like sex: even when it's bad it's still pretty good. ;)

Give me a tasty salad or a nice salmon over pizza any day, that stuff as a food is highly overrated. Now, if you want to talk lasagna or manicotti, we can delve into some real Italian cuisine!

Lionheart is party based? So if it has anything in common with the rest of these games, Diablo has at least 3 times as much.

Lionheart is a bit of a deviation, but it's not a stretch to wonder what Black Isle was doing.

If you're a Watcher who can't identify an infinity engine style game, then I can't help you.

And Arcanum is Infinity-style? lol

Seems like you're the Watcher that can't identify such a game.

And if you can't distinguish between a similar style game and a blatant rip-off, you're the one in need of help.
