Pretty good stuff, though not a lot we didn't know before. Still, you can see some more combat, and it looks fairly decent. He also explains combos a bit, but we already knew that based on previous previews.

The only two concerns remaining for me are:
- Technical issues/bugs?
- Gameplay; the combat still looks a bit sluggish. Hopefully that is a result of the character being inexperienced (combat in G1 and 2 looked aweful untill the hero managed to get some weapon training).

Nice box. I want it in Poland! I don't know if we'll have any Risen Collector's Edition ...

The links aren't good. They take you to the current page, but I found the trailers had slipped to page 7.

I liked pretty much everything I saw in the videos. My only concern is that it looks like they went overly heavy on the Bloom in a few places.

Go directly to GameTrailers and use their search function. Every other site uses their stream.

That box looks so much cooler than the standard one. I don't know if I'd buy the CE for that alone though.

Oh look an escort quest. I must be jaded from playing too many games. Graphics look better than expected though.

An escort quest? I know of no game with good escort quests.

Either the companions are very weak and try their best to get killed (Morrowind, Gothic 3, Sacred 1/2) or they are invincible (Gothic 1/2).

Would be interesting to see a balanced implementation.

Wasn't escort quest on a recent list of ten things developers should stop to use?

Yeah, the presenter did say that this is exactly how it goes (more skill/ new moves) but
I am not convinced that would make combat look all that better (It didn't at any vids
so far).

On the other hand, I don't believe we've seen anything else than that "3 hit combo"
so who knows...

Anyway loving the rest (especially what I can get regarding the atmosphere from these
vids). Lets hope the demo comes soon...

Most of the ca. 500 people from WoR who played Risen at the GC seem to like the new combat system. That's a good sign.

PC Games reports PB delivered a release candidate to Koch Media before the GC. So the game is basically finished as far as they are concerned. Now the ball is in the Koch QA's court.

PC Action played Risen for several hours a few weeks ago. They wrote that their beta was stable and only had a couple of smaller issues but no plotstoppers.

Does anyone know if the Collector's Edition is getting an international release?
Unlikely. Maybe in Poland, which is a very important market for fantasy RPGs.
The UK will almost certainly not get one due to the ongoing price war. Koch will save every penny on the UK version. The price war is also the reason why Koch is thinking about shipping the UK version only with English voices and subtitles.

Many games in the UK come with other languages as options and I have imported a few rpgs from the UK that do.

Especially console games are often manufactured only once for central Europe. The disk includes several languages.
UK film DVDs and BluRays come with German voice overs surprisingly often. German DVDs and BluRays almost always have English voices too if the film is from an English speaking country.

The problem Koch Media sees is that Risen can be bought for ca. 60% of the EUR price in the UK, paying in GBP. This already includes shipping. Of course they want to keep the number of people who find such an offer attractive as low as possible.

You or anyone else knows a good game shop in the UK that ships to the Netherlands?
