So i got this game today, first impression.
I love it, nice gameplay, well designed and
feels more enjoyable than Gothic games.

After i leave the girl the game suddenly
seems as if it got 10 times harder. I was
on normal at first then went to easy and
that never changed a thing.

I dont mind a hard game, but fighting an
opponent for 5mins is not what i am into.
Knock a millimeter off of a 3 inch name bar
per hit is just a pain in my ass.

Any way to edit game files to tone down
this ? I want to enjoy a relaxed game.
Not "Oh shit, reload again" type style.

Just a quick question, does anyone play
on the hard setting ? Or does anyone
find a difference between easy and norm ?
I didnt.

From this post I can only guess you never played the Gothic games. You have to know when to fight and when to run. Find choke points and lure enemies into them. The tight landscape has many choke points - avoid getting flanked. Find a bed close to your combat zone and prepare to use it liberally. Watch the creatures for attack patterns.

Ive only barely competed the 3rd series.
My attention span runs out rather quick
on single player games. Only creatures
i can think of i had a problem with in G3
were those big black beast things, they
were usually in packs of 3, sometimes
alone.

Dont get me wrong, i can kill stuff, and
i know how to fight. But its taking too
many hits. I see once in a blue moon i
hit for a lot, assuming that it must have
been a critical. Ive looked at cheats and
trainers, but i dont want a god mode or
free potions.

The game at the begging is how i would
of liked to play. Im not a "hardcore" player.

Did you find the shield and the sword at the two places near the starting point? A free armour is also available. All you need is either lockpick 1 or a pick lock scroll.

Yes i did, i am pass that. At Dons place.
Ive beaten the 2 other guys in the arena
and havent bothered with the 3rd. I know
about the armor, just havent gotten it yet.
My Hp isnt the issue, its how long it takes
to kill something else. Ive also upgraded
my weapon since ive been at the camp,
and skilled up.

That's correct, use choke points.

"Within that narrow corridor, their numbers mean nothing!"

Patience, young Padawan. You must have it for this game.

If you dont have it, this game is not for you. It takes a while, you really have to pick your battles and accept that you have to save some things, like Boars, for later in the game when youre literally better at the game, and your character is stronger and better equipped, or youre in for a lot of work. And reloading

I play on hard, and I think it is not that hard, other games are much harder... just don't expect to be able to kill everything from the start!

Strange. It should take maybe 30 seconds to kill a hungry wolf. 30-60 seconds for a weak human opponent. One combo for these stingy things. 3-4 combos for flies. Much longer for a strong human though.

The consequences of better gear, more strength and more skill are quite direct. 10 more in strength, the weapon the 3rd arena opponent carries and the free armour should make a significant difference.

What is the free armor being talked about? Is it the the one in the chest at the novices' farm or something else? TIA.
