I guess I was mostly referring to the first Diablo, which left a pretty big impression on me when I first played it. The second was all about loot. I can't recall much of the story of it. And you're right, plot was never a huge part of the series - but setting and atmosphere certainly were. And the story of the first one was simple - I was a lone wanderer entering a troubled little town to save them from the ailments of Hell! It might not sound that unique, but I can't think of any other game at the time that so succinctly encapsulated the quintessial hero-wanderer tale.
I just don't get the same feel from this video. Still probably won't stop me from buying the game, but the series has moved away from some of the important elements that first drew me to it.
Oh, and specifically, when I said I had questions about the plot, I was getting at "who the Hell are these characters, what the Hell are they doing, what the Hell does it have to so with me, and why the Hell am I supposed to care about them?"
