So, time for my yearly attempt at BG1+2 (questions...)

Alright, so, pretty much every year I make an attempt at taking a character through BG1+BG2 and expansions. Last year I managed to complete BG1, and to my horror, realized that my Inquisitor had somehow become a Fallen Inquisitor. I believe it was because the guards kept attacking me in the city of Baldur's Gate. Is that a bug? How are you supposed to avoid that? Also, my next save without the fallen status was hours before the final battle, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it in ShadowKeeper (it would remove fallen status but not return my Paladin powers) so I just gave up.

Also, I've used EasyTutu for the last few plays. Does anyone have any opinion as to whether Tutu or BGT is better? Also, which mods would you recommend? I have Tutu fix, tutu tweaks, Sword Coast Stratagems, and the NPC Project, but that's about it.

It's not a bug. The only way to avoid losing reputation is to run from them instead of fighting them (that's what you should do as a Paladin).

As for mods, there are people here better suited to answer such questions, as I use very few mods in general.

I think that EasyTutu is the best/most convenient of those big conversions.
BGT is simply too complicated and Tutu haven´t been worked on for a long time and thus is probably buggier.

As for the mods, I think that those you have are sufficient for a fun BG1 run. Imho those are mandatory :).

Personally I don´t really like the inventory/avatar art introduced in BG2 so I always install Art pack from One Pixel Productions for both BG2 and Easytutu.
The most convenient and newest package can be downloaded here:

If you want to play the game with original casting/battle sounds, you can install
Restored BG1 Casting Sounds found here:

Also, if you want to have some of your party members even more talkative, you can install some of those friendship paths:
Xan friendship: http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=134&Itemid=94 (scroll down a little)
Coran friendship: http://www.gibberlings3.net/coran/
Ajantis friendship: http://www.rosenranken.org/index.php?action=downloads;section=mods

Well, that´s just about it.
Maybe make sure you have newest versions of BG1 NPC project and SCS.

Anyway, pretty comprehensive guide to install order which also mentions just about every mod for BG1 available is here:
