Pricewatch!

Well, I went hog wild. (Wild hogs being well known for buying up lots of games, ya'know.)

Got the last Elder Scrolls DLC, Far Cry 3 + Blood Dragon, Mirror's Edge, the new Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy 7. (And, with the money I saved, I got a new NVIDIA graphics card. That gave me a free copy of the new Tom Clancy Splinter Cell game, and since that's a pre-order I got Splinter Cell: Conviction for free, too!)

The trading cards seem pretty pointless to me. If you earn enough badges you can gain a level. If you gain a level you get… what? The ability to do a little more stuff with your profile I think. That's not worth bothering with. Maybe 10 years from now the cards will be worth something…

Among weeklong deals on Steam, perhaps you've noticed a tempting adventure with the name Nikopol:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/11370/

An adventure with great looking screenshots, with 82% from IGN and basically based on Enki Bilal's two masterpieces:
- comic books trilogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nikopol_Trilogy )
- the movie Immortel Ad Vitam (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314063/ )

Sadly, IGN strikes again with probably pay-for-rating review, the adventure is crap and utterly flawed. No, it's not worth $1.25 Steam is asking, even with that fancy graphics. It is a slap to fans' face and I can't believe I'm saying this, but charging a single cent for it is worse than "season pass" scam.

A new release on GOG with -33%, means $10:
http://www.gog.com/news/release_brtal_legend

They describe it like this:
Brütal Legend is a mixture of an action-RPG of the hack and slash pedigree, spiked with a serving of real-time strategy unit command.
It ain't true. It's endless mobrespawn TPS grinder that eventually turns into a strategy, but with more than 100 scores of awsome music and humor, I could only close my eye on grinding and am recommending this gem to everyone who didn't buy it on Steam already.

GOG version is DRM free but is singleplayer only. Do we need the multiplayer part? Of course NOT! Do we need noDRM game? YES! :D
And it's not christmas yet!

One thing. Do not, and I mean this, do not buy so called BrutalLegend soundtrack, not here if it gets offered, not anywhere. Inside are just a few ingame scores, it's not the whole (ingenious?) ingame compilation!
Oh and another "one thing"… Instead of making a sequel, they've Kickstarted some wtf game, I got angry and decided not to support that one.

GOG is having a sale on games from Russian developers over the weekend. There are a lot of strategy games in the sale including Eador: Masters of the Broken World, the King's Bounty games, and the UFO series.

I'm temtped to grab Eador. Can anyone tell me if they've squashed most of the bugs that were present when it was released?

I've been playing Eador almost every available hour for the last 3 weeks or so. I find it very addictive, 'one more turn' to its full.

So far I've experienced one almost-game-ending bug in the campaign, that was 2 weeks ago before last patch so don't know if whatever caused it fixed it. Luckily the game auto-saves like for 5 turns and also every time you are out in 'space', so I was able to reload a previous saved game and didn't even lose anything. Also considering I've probably put like 200 hours in it, 1 bug is ok.

In last patch they made the tutorial and the first 3 difficulty levels easier, so this may not apply anymore, but in general for the first shards (tiny/small) play with a warrior or scout (I think the best is tiny shards with warrior, small shards with warrior or scout, medium and large with scout). Wizards and Commanders shine late in the game when you're playing large+ shards.

Got all the ones I want from that list already. Now, if they offered Last Light, I would bite. :)

EDIT: On second thought, is Sacred 2 worth this? Not that I can find room on my virtual shelf. ;)

if you preorder Europa Universalis 4 (sequel to the best game ever made), you receive the second best game ever made (Crusader Kings 2) for free, plus some free DLC and a CK2 to EU4 converter (so you can start playing as a viking in CK2, and then start EU4 as a viking kingdom or something)
