Default Navigating to a folder in command prompt

September 22nd, 2016, 19:18
I want to delete D:\3D & CGI\Renders\VRay\Test04 folder and it refuses to budge. I know how to delete a stubborn folder on C: drive but how do I navigate to the "Test04" folder on D: in command prompt? I've tried all sorts of command but no joy so far. I mean I go to D: and get a list of directories but, when I try cd 3D & CGI I'm being told that system can't find the path…

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried putting the path in quotes? cd "3D & CGI"

Make sure its the whole path in quotes: "D:\3D & CGI\Renders\VRay\Test04"

Its so that the delete command knows that what is between the quotes is the path else the blank spaces in it can mess it up.

Also depending on the command being used, some of them do not like the "&" symbol. Mostly the older commands.

Trouble is, a lot of Windows programs will create paths with spaces. Games are always doing it.

Guys, what are you doing? cd (change directory) command is a thing of past.

SHIFT+rightclick on a folder in windows explorer then click on "open command window here".
