Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on January 17th, 2020
This isn't the first and won't be the last dragonball game.
I didn't like the anime and dropped it because of tournament drag-o-rama, but I do own physical balls from it - they look great. :D

Unlike previous games that I couldn't care less about, this one does look interesting (except the silly cooking sim) in the char progression trailer. Anyone knows if it'll be playable with k+m?

Note that the game has preorder bonus mission :)barf:) and season pass :)doublebarf:) which means even if I ever buy it, it'll be not now but when a complete game is released instead of impaired version with content cut out.

Actually the game isn't grindy much. While you can grind if you want to, there is no point, at least during the main story. The game gives you XP for free to level up if you're underleveled for the next story scene.

Same goes for collectibles. No reason to grind any unless required for a (side)quest. If you choose to do side activities that aren't quests before "endgame" (for example car races), you'll want to grind required mats though, but there is no reason to as you'll get tons of those during game progress.

The only item you'll want to grind is the Ultimate Water gift which is easy. Why is it easy? Because of the endless respawn of trashmobs and mats atrocity (note that medals do not respawn). Happens on any area load. Including loading a save. So savescum.

Seems the game is popular in UK:
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...the-witcher-3-rises-as-dragon-ball-holds-no-1
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot holds No.1 in the UK physical chart by just 400 units.
The RPG beats out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (which remains at No.2) despite a 63% drop in sales week-on-week.

One title to keep a close eye on is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game continues to jump up the charts. It was No.38 two weeks ago, rising to No.20 last week and the RPG now sits at No.12.

Lemme add that I didn't like Dragonball anime. Thought I was the only one:

The new Dragon Ball Z game is a pitch-perfect recreation of a godawful kids’ cartoon
The game is kinda fun though. :)
