I heard he actually died after a giant phallus-shaped object burst from his chest. ;)

Jokes aside (I think he would have liked that one), he was a fantastic artist, and he's responsible for some truly extraordinary creations across multiple industries.

The design of the Xenomorph is hands-down the single most influential piece of art in modern science fiction.

Not fond of anyone dying, though this guy is responsible for the most effective creature in motion picture history.

In fact, I can't think of a single creature that's even close - except perhaps "The Thing" - which isn't really a single creature design.

He clearly had some issues - but that turned out to be of help when making art.

At least his talents won't be wasted on more Prometheus movies.

Ohhh, now that's very sad - that was a very creative and successful artist who made lots of haunting art - even in games - Darkseed on Amiga and PC anyone?
Rest In Peace H. R. Giger....

Terrible. Seems like a lot of people I've known end up dying from falling down the stairs, when you add them up over the years.
