Pricewatch!

Lose some weight… :rotfl:

You nuts? I'm already perhaps too thin. Not like Josh Sawyer who's starving himself to death though. ;)
But honestly I'd probably have to get at least 5-10 more kilos on me.

Instead of trying to solve a problem with food, perhaps I should just buy a better chair. Or perhaps they should put that horse on sale.

I don't feel like typing out a long post so here we go it speaks for itself.
The Humble Square Enix Bundle

A bundle worth raiding a few tombs for. PC classics, characters you love, a recent trip to Hong Kong and Daikatana for good measure. Square Enix has brought a lot to the party so take a look and give John Romero some respect ok? Pay $1 or more for Thief Gold, Mini Ninjas, Daikatana, Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Anachronox. If you pay more than the average price, you'll also get Deus Ex: Invisible War, Deus Ex: The Fall, Hitman: Absolution, Battlestations Midway and the Nosgoth Veteran Pack. Those who pay $15 or more will receive all of the above, plus Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut, Just Cause 2, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days.
The bundle has thirteen days left.

Planet Explorers early access is -40% off on Steam.
So you pay 14€ if you want to provide some more funds to devs before the game is finished (no info on actual release date yet), and of course if you're not KS backer like me where you got the earlyaccess key via e-mail ages ago:

The game has many RPG elements but is actually a mix of genres.
And it's madness definetly. It took the first topseller spot today on Steam kicking down some season pass scam. Does that mean people had enough of scams already?

The Sims 2.
Complete; prepatched. PC version only, no Mac.
FREE as really free. No microtransaction, pay2win, season pass or other types of scam.
And I've checked, there was no nuclear explosion anywhere today.

Oh and this is important:

I totally hadn't keyed into the fact that the next Dragon Age will likely require the Origin platform to play it. Sadly, I actually like my computer too much to inflict that garbage program on it. Looks like I won't even need reviews to base my decision on after all!

While I'd rather not install extraneous software just to launch a game, what exactly is the problem with Origin? Install it to play a game you want to play, remove it afterwards. Simple.

The problem is noone apart from EA knows what Origin exactly does while running in the background.

I'm the first person to call it malware, I'm the first person to spit on their annoying splashscreen advertisments, still it's normally installed on my machine and runs on windows startup. But if it does scan files on your machine as some suggest, honestly, I wouldn't be more happier if those poor sods in EA took some time to enjoy my porn collection.

From what I can tell on a Linux based server (easier to track who accesses what) it scans the drives, individual folders, and actively tracks running processes.

Well, if you want to go full tinfoil hat, how well do we really know what any bit of software is doing? Why the suspicion of Origin over, say, Steam. Or Chrome.

@Wisdom
That's okay as long as it doesn't modify or delete something.
Unlike EA, I have nothing to hide.

@mogwins
Steam is not just DRM, it has links on metacritic, forums, etc and own browser inside. And you don't get banned on all games if you were trolling just one.
Does it do something I wouldn't like? Dunno. Maybe it does. But would Valve really risk losing customers by walking on the edge of legality? I don't think so. They've banned use of virtual currencies, why would they do some other scam?
Elsewhere I've said I can't adapt on Chrome - I still use Firefox.

Firefox is the best. Didn't get the chrome rage.

Can I get the Sims 2 and sell it ?

Steam is the best so far but an independent system would be better. A standard frontend (GUI) where publishers can write plugins for. Something like... Games for windows ? :)

Ditto. I held off on Steam for a long while for the same reason, but its amazing sales (plus Crusader Kings II is only available from Steam) convinced me in the end...
