That's a shame as I was hoping it would a good game. Basically because you don't see many good offline Warhammer RPG's, and I wasn't interested in NeoCore's Inquisitor.

Also the developers last few game were enjoyable.

Meh… yet another Diablo clone?

I watched some footage, and it looks like they just took Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor - Martyr and reskinned it to fit the fantasy universe.

Of what I read this seems to have similar problems as the WH40K pendant. Gonna wait for a sale on this one.

Working on the full review. Sadly I can't recommend it at the current price even though there is certainly fun to be had. So many missed opportunities

To me this kind of game is a waste of the setting, I would prefer something much closer to the tabletop wargame.

Better to play the tabletop wargame.

It does not translate as it stands and requires deep adaptation.

No idea why nobody tries to make a real RPG out of one of the WH settings. Doesn't have to be a 1:1 translation of the tabletop rules.

They have deep enough lore and decent writers from the Black Library would be available. So just give me a good RPG with interesting turn-based combat and non-procedural loot and I would be happy. GW handing out licenses for shite games left and right, but never did anybody attempt a RPG…

What's the fascination with turn-based RPG on this site?

I agree about GW selling the license to any two-bit developer. It's getting out of hand.

Hadn't heard much about this project and doesn't appear to be something I'd be interested in. An action rpg these days has to be really something to get my time and attention.

Well, I concede you do have a point there. And I did play the TT game years ago when I was young and had more time on my hands, no to mention friends to play with.

I disagree that it wouldn't be possible to make a game out of it though, either grand strategy or party based RPG. UGOIGO either way of course.

Is it a fascination though? Judging by most threads I'd say the camps are pretty even between RTwP, Turn based and action combat. I might be totally off though, haven't we had a poll regarding favourite system?

Some RPG's have been attempted, but they're either small scale or action oriented.

Games Workshop has returned to making games.

This allowed to notice that their games usually do not scale up to volumes of played games.

Game sessions have somewhat a mythical dimension to them, they are supposed to be scarce by computer standards. It is one time per week thing when people meet together, chill out and socialize.

After investigating for a gaming group for Necromunda, the volume of games revealed low. One group organized a campaign over ten months, twelve players committing to play at least one game per month. It is more like two by month in the average.

Twenty games over ten months, a pity compared to computer volumes.

GW games are not meant to support a large volume of games. They are in the range of one or two games in a week and yet not over a full year.

This changes a lot of things.

@ChienAboyeur, I agree the TT game converted 1:1 probably wouldn't work very well, for the reasons you mention. I do however think there has been some interesting games made from GW sources though, my two favourites being Total War:Warhammer and Dawn of War 2.
