Itch.io has a bundle for racial injustice and equality that now has over 1700 games, books and software, that you can have for a mere $5. The bundle does not have any Steam keys, everything can be downloaded directly from Itch.io.

Update: The bundle has been a huge success so far and many more developers have submitted their projects. We've added a new round of games & more. All previous and future buyers get instant access. There are now 1,000 projects included. (ED: That is actually 1704 at this moment).

We live in a time of racial injustice, inequality, and police brutality against black people. We hope that everyone takes a stand in any way that they can. We've partnered with creators from all across our platform to support organizations that are working directly with those affected.

We reached out to our community and an unprecedented number of creators donated over 740 projects to be part of what we believe is the largest bundle ever. Over $3,400 of paid works are available Pay-what-you-want with a minimum donation amount of $5.

All proceeds will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund split 50/50.

Please note: No Steam (or other external keys) will be given for bundle purchases. Only direct downloads will be available on the itch.io page.

If you're looking for more ways to help try here: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/
Just to be clear: This is to discuss this bundle. If you want to discuss racial justice and equality take it to the P&R forum.

More information.

I bought it mostly because there's a map-making software I wanted to use for my tabletop RPG campaign, lol. The software alone was more expensive than the bundle.

Which one is that? I've been considering different softwares the last few years, but never bought one since my old group hasn't played for years... I think we might actually play and reminisce once in a while if we could get together online somehow.

Cool! Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it seems like a well designed piece of software. I'm more interested in tabletop software.
Possibly Gabriel means this:
https://cone.itch.io/hex-kit
Edit:
Also includes extra tilesets for Hex Kit:
https://cone.itch.io/spaceland
(unsure if there are more)

I found half a dozen games I was very keen on in the first couple of hundred I looked at:

Also, there were some decent tabletop RPG resources.

Kinda funny that everyone's like "I need this, so I got it" or "I don't need any so I pass" and nobody made half a mention about supporting a good cause. Guess everyone knows what they come here for, huh?

That's one way to look at it, but there are lots of ways to contribute to causes, many of them more direct than buying a gaming bundle. So if you ARE going to contribute by buying a gaming bundle, it makes sense for it to be of some use to you on the gaming side.

I wouldn't assume that.
At first I thought it went without saying that it was a good cause, then I realised that (unfortunately) it doesn't in the current political climate. So... I take the route that is safest for my fragile sanity.
Look on the bright side: Maybe we can trick some ignorant racists into supporting something they otherwise wouldn't.

I didn't notice the space-based tilesets before! Cool.

Yeah, the resources for tabletop RPG are pretty cool. I may end up playing one called Lancer, which is about mechas.

I donated 10$.

I have zero interest in 99.9% of the games/tools but this is one very important thing to support.

@Couch

No, that's not what Myrthos was going for.

Noone wanted du discuss racial justice and equality, but everyone got the right to express why they bought the bundel, don't they?

Guess you didn't see the message above.

I saw it, but there's a difference between discussing the topic and saying "I like to support a good cause" just the same as you'd say "I like to support X indie developer" when backing a Kickstarter or such and nobody will start a debate about it. There is no wrong or debate in that. However, if that line in the disclaimers will help you sleep better, so be it.

And I did get the Bundle for more than the minimum price. I'm pretty sure there are things I can use, but more than anything, I am comfortable with where my money is going. Better than going to Electronic Arts or Activision, huh? ;)

Sir_brennus and Nereida indeed understood it as I meant it.

I glanced through the offering and don’t think I will uses anything in it, but bought it anyway for a higher price, just to support the cause.

As to map making software, Humble bundle has a map making bundle. Don’t know if it is any good.
