BEst way to play PoE if you are lazy and dont want to think too much, is to find a build you like on youtube to see if you like the look of the gameplay of it. In those you tube vids, in their description they have links to their entire skill tree mapped out and what items and skill gems you need to make it work.

I think it's much more satisfying to play your own builds. Sure, you're gonna make many mistakes in the beginning, but eventually you'll have better grasp of game mechanics, and you'll be able to design great builds that perhaps nobody played yet. The game is constantly changing, new abilities and items are being added, some are being nerfed, some buffed -- if you take you time and learn it well, you'll always be able to adjust to any change.

I've probably played 20 builds or so, but finished the main quest with just one or two. I don't run maps/rifts/etc. I like the stories, but the random stuff bores me to death. I'd rather start over once I finish the chapters. Fun game though. I may jump back into it after my Diablo 3 run.

I was looking through lists for RPGs that are good for beginners. IMO the best ones on pc for starters is Fable Anniversary. It has a good choice system and isnt too heavy with the systems that modern rpgs have.

And next on the list i would say it Skyrim. It is the next logical step in rpg's after Fable. A few more systems and a bit more weight in you choices I think.

For multi character RPG's for beginners I would say Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic. Because unfortunately group rpg's havent been both simple and solid in a while. But once you played this you should be able to play the more complex rpgs with multiple characters that are good.

Final Fantasy games arent imo real RPG games. You dont make choices in the games that affect the story. They are called RPG games because you have a lot of choice how you develop your characters combat wise. But they do have great stories. No one would despise you here for playing them unless it is Joxer and if the FF you are playing is not on pc. :lol:


If you want a more social rpg, you will probably have to venture into MMORPG's(mmo stands for massively multiplayer online). After playing the first two i mentioned, and you want to play with other people i suggest Dungeon and Dragons Online, we have a great community here that will help you. You can even play for free for a bit.

The other social MMORPG popular here is Star Wars: The Old Republic I think. Be warned though, a fair bit of jumping puzzles that will test your dexterity.
