I actually wavered a long time on buying this game, and got it at a pretty steep discount. The accusations that its mechanically weak or homosexual pornography put me off, but its on the recommend list, so I decided to get it. The large number of naked male monsters in the game or the completely optional possibilities to try to enter into a homsexual romance haven't really bothered me.
I also have to say that the game is incredibly original in many ways. Character creation is very original. They base building works in the game very originally. The game's premise and first few hours are all worthy of praise.
But now I'm close to 10 hours in, and I have some major gripes with the game. Your companions seem to be very shallow. Combat is challenging, but actual combat options seem very limited. Character advancement also seems very shallow. That would all be okay if the game had a lot to do outside combat, but that doesn't seem to be the case. There are a few interesting areas, but the game seems like 90% combat, and there isn't much story either.
I'm having motivational problems continuing. Does the game just continue on in the same manner?

Yes, if you haven't hit the time limit to return the game… I suggest doing it. Waste of time overall unless you are interested in combat grindfest.
For me it didn't strike a good balance between RPG, Roguelike, Strat etc.

That's what I feared. Well I can't return it, but at least I only shoveled out like 6 euros for it.

Shelve it and return later. Maybe you'll be in the mood for it later.

I played it for quite a while, but eventually hit "sameness" fatigue.
