Risen 3: Titan Lords - RPC 2014 Presentation

The old PB games always had the problem that they looked much better in-game than on a screenshot.

I'm German :) -> some facts from the Risen video:
Piranhas:
Björn: Project Manager, Game & Story Designer
Harry, Jenni and Amadeus: Story Designer

  • last game of the Risen series
  • complete freedom: go where you want from the beginning
  • setting: the gods are gone, titans fight each other, the humans try to survive
  • new hero
  • 3 guilds: Mages, Watchers, ???
  • hero has lost his soul in a fight with a shadow lord and tries to get it back to avoid getting a henchman of the underworld
  • the hero seeks help from the mages
  • the mages try to fight the titans by building a reactor with crystals
  • the gnomes help mining the crystals
  • combat system: blocking, counter-attacks and evade moves are possible
  • blocking/dogging doesn't always work
  • you have to learn fighting strategies for different enemies, build up skills, equip yourself
  • Risen3 = best things from Risen & Gothic series
  • nonlinear story and exploring, much freedom -> seek your own adventure
  • more world interactivity than in earlier games
  • swimming and climbing is back
  • no monster scaling -> exploring is dangerous
  • different climate zones/landscapes
  • many interesting/hidden locations to find
  • many weapons, items to find
  • lure animals to enemies
  • adventure with companions
  • multiple pathes/solutions to solve quests
  • quests to reach locked/blocked areas
  • the hero can do some mining
  • release date: 15.08.2014

all in all: Gothic 1 reloaded -> I'm hyped :)

I'm sorry DArt you are so right! I should have realized that women in medieval setting have to be either slaves or sex slaves.

Yeah, they were clearly on a mission to undermine the female sex. It's not plausible that women would be treated like that in such a setting. Noooo, they should be wearing metal bikinis and wielding samurai swords!

You should write a letter to someone about that!
 
It wasn't just a medieval setting, but a prison and the women were sex slaves who the men got as bribes in return for providing ore. Considering the vast number of shady characters in Gothic 1, and considering the guy who had the sex slaves was a total bastard, I thought it fit into the setting well.

I almost forgot to say thank you for the translating job HiddenX. I'm also looking forward to Gothic 1 reloaded, and won't miss the pirate setting.

Hey guys - this is a fantasy world. I'm not fireballing people on my way to work, killing every animal in the woods and pick up every flower from my neighbors garden to make potions. I'm not holding scantily clad vixens in cages. And in my bag is no place for 100 weapons. I'm not smoking stuff every other hour :)

Fantasy games/books = not a place for political correctness
