RPGWatch - We Are Back

I didn't realize how much I needed RPGWatch... until it was gone. I was like a listless ship in a storm of shooters, platformers and porn simulators. I will never take this site for granted again. Never.

Welcome back, my friends.

I can't believe I went days…DAYS…without having a place to post random YouTube videos. The thought that some hacker may have stood in the way of my videos makes me angry…as angry as…as…a marginalized redhead…

Sorry for venting like that. I feel much better now. It feels good to have the Watch back. Real good. I almost feel like...like...dancing with a keytar...

Also: some rpgcodex's members (or maybe all) were kinda celebrating because RPGWatch went offline these days. As if one less RPG-dedicated web site were good news for the PC RPG community as whole.

They created a thread called 'The Watch?' to comment and/or gloat over our situation, and some codexian sonuvas even threw up names and curses over some fellow Watchmembers. Why would someone celebrate over anyone's demise is a thing I'll never comprehend.

When I subscribed here years ago I didn't know about this animosity between Rpgwatch and Rpgcodex. I always took this 'feud' more like a folkloric thing. In fact I never understood why all this 'hate' (yeah I know, it's a strong word to use) between here and there, there and here.

A double... nay, a triple 'yay' for RPGWatch coming back up. :)

I guess it's rather fitting that my whiny post about the Watch has been lost to oblivion after this trouble. Need to get filtering sorted out though, that pan-RPG spread is making me twitch.

I wouldn't take "the feud" very seriously. We've got a codex refugee thread when their server is down they swarm in like a flock of rabid wild geese and defecate all over it, then fade into the murky depths once more. Its pretty tongue in cheek, even their 'celebration' posts.

So THAT'S what rabid wild geese are like! ;)

What's all this crazy looking-at-codex talk? We've got that group on Steam where we can post away!

So glad you guys are back. I was checking the site and Twitter everyday to see updates. You're such an integral part of my daily routine I was quite sad not being able to access the site for days.

So is there any way to confirm a hack?

Actually, this is a bittersweet reunion

I created actual content, and it's gone!
- after wrapping up Loren the Amazon, and hitting about halfway in Stick of Truth, I banged out some pretty nice little analysis on both.
Music recommendations from Nyx: gone
My "Stranger Things" rant: gone
Private messages: gone

Are you SURE you dont have a more recent back-up??? :lonely:

If I was at the codex I'd be pissed off too. How do they find the actual site underneath all their spam ads?

I'm so glad RPGWatch is back. It's a rare gem among the sites of its kind with its clear structure and friendly community.

Well, with DOS 2 coming out soon, it's good to have you back to cover it.
