Cyberpunk 2077 - Released

The game definitely still has very rough edges, but I am sure it will shape up to something great.
I hope they can optimize it a bit more as they did with Witcher 3, because performance is a bit wonky sometimes for me.

I'm real curious about this one, but I straight up cannot play action games -- I am all thumbs and confusion.

I know there's no VATS equivalent, but is there a character build or playstyle that lets you slow down combat at all?

I was thinking of giving it a go with stealth and hacking so that I'm basically playing Thief ... does that seem possible to those of you who already have the game?

I am all thumbs as well and love VATS because of it.

That being said there is a "story/casual" mode for C2077 which I am playing on. That helps. Also doing stealth although I have other things I am doing right now so may be a while before I know how it all works out.

Running well for me as well at 2560/1440 with a 2070Super with many ultra (not shadows).

When it runs. While playing goes great. Seen a couple clipping issues but nothing major. However in 3.5 hours of playing I've had 10+ CTD. One bad stretch where I crashed 4 times in 10 min. I'll try to mess with settings more to try and get it more stable but if this continues I will have to wait for a patch.

Edit: I did install new NVIDIA drivers. I am going to reinstall them tonight, I did see that helped a couple people

Yes, if you're prepared to restart if things go south, much like you would in Thief.

There are some gigs and such where the point is to take people out, but you could still do that with a combination of hacking and stealth.

Yeesh. I have had two crashes in 8 hours. I like my ratio better.

Yeah me too. On top of that, it is an FPS game . . . I hate the floating arm camera. That's why I am not nearly as excited as I was with BG3. I am gonna wait for a sale or enhanced edition with this one.

But keep the news about this game coming guys. I am curious about what everyone is thinking about this game.

hm -- Steam forums are saying that stealth isn't really viable, and that many/most story missions force you into open combat.

Anyway some observations.

1. I wonder how many of those 8 million were pre-orders from years back.
2. Witcher 3 got a massive boost in sales from the TV show. Over 20 million.
3. They don't mention # of those copies were on cheap sales or free giveaways.
4. Witcher 3 has been out for over five years now.
5. GTA 5 sold over 120+ million in five years, It's a high bar to meet and beat.
6. Theirs also a Cyberpunk 2077 TV show in the works.
7. Congratulations to CPDR for eight million sales.

That's it.

Stealth is possible but its not easy like in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. The enemy can spot you easily and hacking can misfire on you. All in all it's realistic instead of gamified.

So it is possible to stealth but expect to reload a lot.

NSFW obviously

They started before release
Cyberpunk porn had been around for years.

Having said that posting porn or links to porn is probably against this sites TOS.

I don't know how far they could possibly be, but that has not at all been the case in my 10 hours.
You must be a stealth master then. Half of my missions ended in combat. Probably because I don't like stealth or have patience for it. So yeah people play differently.

Now if we had a cloaking device like another Cyberpunk game it would help.:)

Also while this is a good game it's nothing groundbreaking as I expected. Seriously eight years to make this game you think the sky was the limit. Sorry to be negative.

My personal rating for enjoyment is probably 8/10.

0 crashes here, but I've experienced quite a few bugs already. Off the top of my head...

Some clothes not displaying properly on my character when I look in the mirror. I put on a baseball cap and it shows my guy with a bald head instead!

Not able to pick up some items, and having a difficult time targeting some items when they're close together.

Subtitles getting stuck on the screen.

Game not recognizing any of the extra buttons on my mouse.

As for me I had a few of the following happen.

  1. A few crashes
  2. Graphic Glitches
  3. Some bugged main quests
  4. Subtitles Glitches
  5. Audio shutoff in conversations
Pretty much what was listed in the PCGamer list even with the Day One patch.

Some bugs in a game like this are understandable, but some of the other things that people are complaining about seem like major gaffes on the part of CDPR. Like not even being able to remap movement keys.

Keys remaping will be fixed fast for sure.

But I got 2 quest bugs.
One hit me in the Vic lab (main quest) where the next step refused to appear - solution was reload the previous save and replay.
Another hit me in Jackie's garage (side quest) where I couldn't scan tequilla bottle nor pick it. Since it was an optional step I didn't reload, luckily the bottle was not needed later.

And I got the bald bug in the mirror too. No subtitles being stuck though.

No crashes at all. Played for 14 hours.

Seems the game wants you to play the main story and not sidequests - till you "meet" Keanu Reeves. Then you should go exploration as he comments on all the stuff out there.
Am I right? KCD design, only it's not the horse here but Johnny?

Anyway, spoiler (an easter egg I just had to screenshot, it's not the only one but it made me happy):
