Performance sucks; a few big bugs; campaign so far is kind of boring; but I'm mostly just doing contracts to get bigger mechs before moving into the campaign. I suspect the difficulty level is messed up because some of the 'hard' stuff is really easy and some of the 'easy' stuff is really hard. I also wish there were more skills for mech drivers.

I've gone back to 7 Days to Die. It's a zombie survival game, but it has tons of loot, tons of skills to manipulate and good exploration due to random world generation. I set the zombie spawns pretty low as I mostly like to explore and collect stuff. The game has base building but I generally skip that outside of building a minimal amount of storage and crafting stations. If you build high enough, you never have to worry about horde night. I like that the game allows you to edit combat from none to insane

Still playing Fallout 2, currently romping our way across the Sierra Army Depot, with my best mate Marcus by my side, we sing, we sing…..and sling our blades and power fists. I like Marcus, although he doesn't care much for armour and tends to soak up the stimpaks like a sponge, he follows orders and doesn't hog all the chips.

Best game ever. Be sure to get the mod that speeds up combat. Also be aware that you need to be aware.

I'm still playing Lords of Xulima. 55hrs in and no end in sight. I'm still wandering around the map, which is huge and absolutely filled with encounters. The combat is great but i think fewer random encounters would be an improvement - there are far too many imo. The maps are really well done though, interestingly varied, and I'm enjoying the exploration and puzzles.

I'm starting to wonder how long it will take to finish - about 70hrs according to HLTB but I've got so much left to do I can't imagine wrapping it up in just another 15 hrs! There's so much of the map yet to explore…

I think I played it around 200 hours and only killed two of the princes, @Pongo! I love building the different parties in that game.

Yeah I really enjoy these kind of games where you have to think about the party composition and how you develop it.

I've made a few mistakes (I didn't prioritise Speed enough at the start, for example) but I'm only playing on Normal difficulty and I've managed to correct them as I go. I currently have a front line of Gaulen (awesome poison attack), a paladin (focused on piling on wounds) and a thief (sword + deadly with shurikens); and a backline of a mage, bard and cleric. I think I've tried to spread my mage and bard too thin across their skills, I probably need to specialise more. And my cleric wasn't much use except for countering bleeding etc, but then he recently got access to Mass Heal and that's made loads of encounters tonnes easier!

If I was doing it again I think I'd move the thief to the backline and swap the bard for a barbarian. But then I'm also curious about how a Divine Summoner might have played out… Lots of interesting choices!

Lords of Xulima is fantastic, I really need to get back to that one for a replay soonish. I think in my first run I clocked just in excess of one hundred hours.

Currently playing ESO. I restarted a few weeks before POE Deadfire released (I was invited to Summerset beta despite not having played the game since Morrowind expac released and just ended up playing the game, lol) and returned to it after finishing Deadfire (waiting for early June big patch to replay that game).

I finally found how to make that game "click" so I don't get bored/annoyed after a few hours. Yeah!

Just got Detroit. Disliked Beyond a lot, so I am eager to see if there is some hope for Quantic Dreams.

Currently playing Baldur's Gate 1 Enhanced Edition for the first time. First time BG original also. I never played BG1. I played plenty of Icewind Dale, and started off with Baldur's Gate 2, and was a bit lost there. But enjoyed it a lot regardless. So I decided it was time to see what the original has to offer.

And so far, I'm a bit mixed on what I feel about it. The gameplay is top-notch, since it's an IE game. I love the style of gameplay and the 2D renderings. But, I'm finding it kind of generic, especially with regards to the main quest so far.

I've just reached the city of Baldur's Gate, after about 30 hour of gameplay, so I'm not sure how far along I am. Is there a lot more? But what I've seen doesn't really have me excited. I'm playing mostly for the exploration and gameplay, which is great, but as I said that's mostly due to the IE games. They're all great in that department.

But the story is kind of meh. The whole plot about the poisoning of iron, and how the Iron Throne is involved was kind of a generic plot. The only highlights I'm having are the narrated events, mostly after sleeping and dreaming, that constantly foreshadow what will likely happen. Also, the letters I keep finding that mention Sarevok. Oh, and the random visits from Elminster.

So, I'm hoping there is more to the main story, and this is just the beginning. How long does the game usually clock in at? Is there a lot more after finally getting to the city?

Other things I like is how open it seems to be, and how much there is to explore. And how easy it is to miss stuff. For ex, initially I missed saving Dynaheir from the Gnoll Stronghold. And when I ultimately went there, I could not find her for the life of me. Had to see an online guide to see where they hid her. I don't think I would've found her otherwise.

I also haven't met Minsc yet. Is he completely optional? Do I get to meet him if I don't have Dynaheir in my party? Thing is I couldn't keep Dynaheir, since I already had Neera in my party for some time, and committed a lot of spells to her spellbook. Even just not having "Identity" as part of her spellbook was annoying as hell, so I had to drop Dynaheir, and go back to Neera.

And even if I made the sacrifice, and kept Dynaheir, I would've wanted to bring Minsc on also. But then I'd have to Clerics. Tough choices.

Minsc should be at Nashkel, right in front of Garrison where 3 kids are standing.

You're about half-way through if I remember properly, there is a lot to do in the city. It has about as much side quests as the rest of the game too.

Don't forget to visit the sewers…

I've never managed to get far into BG1 for this very reason. Like you, I played the hell out of Icewind Dale (including some co-op), and also finished IW2. But BG1 has always bored me. I've been trying recently to get into the EE version, but so far have barely managed 10 hours.

Me too!
I don't remember it from the non-EE version, but certainly in the EE version she blends into the dark background.

Anyway, thought I'd chip in so that you know that you're not alone

Still playing battletech. Decided I wanted a Crab and spent a lot of time looking for one; but now that I've got one working to finish the campaign. Hopefully will finish it next week. To be honest the dialog is quite corny and unappealing. Still I figure i will see how the story turns out.

Hum after writing this post went back and check the list of campaign mission and it appears I only have 3 more so maybe i'll finish up tomorrow. Then what will be next I'm not sure - maybe fallout 3 nv (which I never played).

Yeah, and it doesn't help that the setting of BG1 is just boring, when compared to the absolutely amazing one in Icewind Dale. IWD is leagues ahead of BG when it comes to setting. So much atmosphere in almost every location in IWD. In BG1, so far, I spent most of my time running around generic green scenery, and some desert-like ones. I liken this to Morrowind vs Oblivion when it comes to setting.

But still, even like this, the gameplay is solid enough that I worked through it. But I can't wait to finish BG1, and start on BG2.
