Am I wrong ? I can take all other types of hunting trophies such as teeth, claws, eyes, etc.
Sorry, not sure then. I remember there being Remove Heart in some of those games. Guess they were the Gothics or something.

Ah, I think you need the right tools.

There are 4 tools-

Bonesaw
Jaw Chisel
Skinning Knife
Sacrificial Knife (Voodoo)

I'll double check, but thanks.

Sorry, it's been awhile since I played, and those little details seem different from game to game.

Actually, if you join the natives you can also buy it from the voodoo trader in the camp Chani comes from (but only after fully joining them). Otherwise, you'll need the one RPGFool mentioned (there are only two as far as I know).

I just checked:

And I have one, which I assume I got from Chani's village in the Sword Coast.

Does anyone know the console commands to insert jaguar hearts then ?
It feels like I should own 3-4 hearts by now.

EDIT:

Think I found the console commands…

Thank you all for your help.

I am now finished with Garcia and I have all of the artefacts to start battling Mara.
It seem like most artefacts are not very strong on their own as weapons. Is that how you see it ?

I also am not sure what the Bone Hand does…

I have to still do the Air Temple from the DLC before continuing, so I'll be doing that before going further on the main quests. I also still need to go to the Treasure Island for Steelbeard's treasures.

All in all, the game feels very Gothic-like in many ways.
It's a fun game with some fun quests. I am quite happy they do not have hundreds of fetch quests like in Gothic III. Several quests seem to have multiple ways of solving them, although most are simply around combat. I do think the voodoo quests are fun and a nice addition to the game.

I feel like PB probably were thinking of this since Gothic I as you could use the console to take over other characters

I really wouldn't mind a Gothic I remake with some additional works being done to it like the mine being populated and maybe even a prequel as to how the three camps formed. I still think that setting was the best of all the games they have made.

They're rubbish, but they have specific uses later on. Sort of.

It's telepathic. You can use it to flip switches or loot stuff from afar. A few switches, such as in the temple where you get it, can only be reached with it, allowing you to get to loot that's otherwise impossible to get.

I'd love that, but I don't see it happening.

Yes, but as I said before, the battle against Mara is the most ridiculous boss fight I have ever experienced in a game.
When I fought her, I kind of jokingly used a curse doll on her, fully expecting she would resist the weakening curse but she didn't.

The curse effect worked on her so she was able to deal out approximately one damage per minute to my character. I could just stand there and laugh, no exaggeration. I could have gone make coffee. Seriously.

So when I got bored of playing with her, I hit her two or three times and the credits started rolling. There wasn't even a fight. It was the silliest crap I have ever seen at the end of a game. It was extremely sloppy and stupid that they did not make her resistant to certain effects/attacks.

Yeah, they made Mara way too easy, but I suspect that might have been a kneejerk reaction from PB due to people complaining about the end boss in Risen 1.

Well, the end boss in Risen was just as easy. Jump, jump, hit, jump, hit, jump, jump, hit. Game over .
That guy also took literally three hits with that hammer. The only rather minor challenge after two minutes (or a couple deaths) of practice was the jump&run stuff.

Well, I certainly agree with this.

I just finished the game. All in all, a very fun and entertaining game. I am glad I went the Voodoo route as that made the game much more interesting. I think the world design is still PB's greatest strength as exploring felt useful. I did think many times that climbing from GI and GII were missing. Those huge cliffs looked like they would be great to climb to find hidden treasure, but now, the climbing was too scripted. See flat-climbing surface, climb, repeat. It felt too easy to find those places. I still remember trying to find alternatives way into Khorinis in GII

Combat for me was the weakest point with all the rolling around and if I didn't have companions I would probably have stopped playing. I didn't feel too much satisfaction with fighting other than being able to kill sand devils in two hits rather than 20 at the the end of the game.

I think some quests were really fun like taking over Mauregato and making him testify to his own treason
I still think that PB are trying to increase world size too much which decreases some of the content quality. I would have preferred seeing some people more and there was no need really to have so many different NPCs. For example, I think that Booze sounded like a fun character, but other than coming back for a rum delivery, there was very little interaction with an interesting character from the first real island.
Same with some people from the Inquisition.

One thing I certainly did notice as a great positive to me was that there were very few fetch quests. GIII was littered with them and Risen had a few too many for its size. Many quests were interesting and provided some kind of subplot. I did think that if they had chosen a slightly smaller gamesize, they could have made some quests even more interesting.

As I said above, it was a very fun game, although it had some things which could have been better (as always).

Certainly worth a try and I would say that it's even worth persevering if you dislike the combat mechanics.

A few issues to point out for any future players:
- Some treasure chests disappear sometimes after digging them up, so I recommend quicksaving before digging
- It seems the Ritual Knife does not always work as I could not gather some critical Voodoo trophies like Jaguar Hearts. I recommend simply inserting via console command a couple or buying from the merchants
- There is a recipe missing for the Leather Oil, you should be alright without it, so not really an issue, but not worth travelling all around trying to find it

Finally, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped on this thread.

Good job on completing the game. Be sure to put your character into the 'Watch honour thread for posterity! We don't get enough players finishing games around here.
