Kingmaker - Tavern Party Trailer

Disable the sound and pause (that's what I did). The guy goes over all the UIs and tooltips in character creation for each classes (just pick the video with the class names).
Thanks, it's indeed more a slideshow than an actual video. I discovered some usefl info. Thanks!
Eldrith Scion here I come! Hm… but a Bard has a lot more skillpoints and class skills… and I always loved Sorcerers…

Go Sorcerer, if you don't mind spending 5+ hours just deciding which bloodline to choose and what feats to go with it. There is 24 different starting options just for that classe (ok some are similar like the Draconic bloodlines but still), thankfully the other classes aren't as crazy.

Ah, there are more. You can chose race and distribute attribute points. :D
As I've saifd befor, I guess I'll need 20 hours to create the main char.

Anyone know the list of classes in the game?

From this official forum thread.

Classes - 3 archetypes:
Alchemist - Vivisectionist, Grenadier, Chiurgeon
Bard - Archaeologist, Flame Dancer, Thunder Caller
Barbarian - Armored Hulk, Mad Dog, Invulnerable Rager
Cleric - Crusader, Herald Caller, Ecclesitheurge
Druid - Blight Druid, Defender of the True World, Feyspeaker
Fighter - Aldori Defender, Tower Shield Specialist, Two-Handed Fighter
Inquisitor - Sacred Huntsman, Monster Tactician, Tactical Leader
Magus - Eldritch Archer, Eldritch Scion, Sword Saint/Kensai
Monk - Scaled Fist, Sensei, Chained Monk
Paladin - Divine Hunter, Divine Guardian, Hospitaler
Ranger - Freebooter, Flame Warden, Storm Walker
Rogue - Eldritch Scoundrel, Knife Master, Thug
Sorcerer - Wild Bloodlines (Empyreal, Sage, and Sylvan) (Regular Bloodlines are: Abyssal, Arcane, Celestial, Draconic, Elemental, Fey, Infernal, Serpentine, and Undead)
Wizard - Arcane Bomber, Scroll Savant, Thassilonian Specialist.

Prestige classes in the beta (there will be more at release apparently):
Arcane Trickster, Stalwart Defender, Mystic Theurge, Dragon Disciple, and Eldritch Knight

I bet most people here have no idea what half the classes/archetypes do…I didn't before yesterday.

Thanks guys. Looks promising. I'll either be some weird bloodline of Sorcerer or an Archaeologist, I think. :)

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Interview on ExpansiveDLC.
We got to interview Creative Director, Alexander Mishulin and Owlcat Studios, the development team behind the game, and ask them some questions about the Kickstarter process, their post-launch plans, and everything else in-between.

From the beta forums they are already planning more prestige classes through DLC. I'm not sure if these will be included in the expansive DLC mentioned by Couchpotato or seperate class DLC.

edit: I see the interview posted by Couch already talks about additional classes.

Maybe this is a good time for a poll? Which class do you plan on playing in Pathfinder: Kingmaker? :)

I'm going for Fighter/Mage/Eldritch Knight build.

I'll probably restart about 7-8 times before I know for sure... (I'm THIS close to restarting PoE2 for the second time 10 hours in...)

Is there a perk system like in NwN2 where perks are attribute based and not dependant on class, or are you restricted to class choices?

I'll probably go for a dual wielding ranger, chaotic good. Don't know enough about the kits to know if one will fit or not.

Exactly the same. There are plenty of feats that are dependent on attributes - but most also have a class of at least a BaB dependency.

Can you separate your party in this game (i.e. have 1 party-member enter a building alone to scout it), or do all party-members have to be on the same screen?

Also, how does steath work? Is it similar to the IE games?

I'm going to spend around 20 hours just deciding that. Less or more.

I always loved making Paladins, but a lot of the classes and archetypes look cool and I will want to try them. But unlike, let say Dragon Age, where you only have to try 3 classes, here you have to try 14 classes x 3 + Sorcerer bloodlines + Wizard specializations…and that's just the classes. Some of those archetypes totally alter how you build the character, like Empyreal Sorcerer, they use Wis instead of Cha.

NWN2 had feats restricted to class feature like extra Divine turning. Pathfinder is 3.5e+. It's going to look very much like NWN2 from a mechanical point of view, but there is also a lots of new stuff that aren't in 3.5e (but are in 4e/5e, funny enough).

They should have released a character builder (with results able to be imported in the game), prior to the game. That would have been awesome.

You people keep acting like this isn't based on a pre-existing game. If you want to plan your character, then all the information is available online.

I'll probably play a Magus if I end up getting the game. I love sword & magic builds.

Maybe a new thread for this would be fun and interesting. :)

I'm probably going to play an Archaeologist. It's a Bard/Rogue combo, two classes I rarely play (or never in the Bard's case.)

I might also play a Sorcerer since there are so many cool bloodlines. Fey, Draconian, Undead, etc.. Seems like a good choice but I always play Sorcerers in D&D so I'm not sure.

So yeah, probably Archaeologist but I'll check out how the Sorcerer bloodlines work, too.

Well yeah, but I figured it wouldn't be exactly like the PnP Pathfinder? If it is, does anyone know of a good character planner for it?

Any character planner is going to be way more complicated than the videogame.

What you can do though is research the attributes, skills, and base classes. If you have experience with D&D 3.5, Pathfinder is essentially just a rip off.

Good question.

Also, I think the youtube videos linked to in this thread already mentioned some distinctions between the original rules and the game. Although, they are probably minor.

Nice job, man, nice job.
