GameRevolution reports that Epic exclusivity for Shenmue 3 will be assessed by Ys Net's and Deep Silver when they get back from E3.

Deep Silver and Ys Net's decision to make Shenmue 3 an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC has been met with a bit of a backlash from fans. Most of them would prefer to get the game on Steam. With this in mind, the developers have now stated that the Shenmue 3 Epic exclusivity will be assessed when they get back from E3.

I suspect nothing will change, they simply did this to quell the noise from all the kick starter supporters. I'd be happy to be proved wrong on this, and feel free to remind me if they actually capitulate.

I am thinking they are just assessing the damage it would cause if they stay stubborn and don't give refunds to backers.
