The Totally NEW Team Corwin Thread

I think now that every time you see a double or even triple points sale, then it's kind of a sign that there is something going on ... soemthing woirth all these points.

And indeed, I got ghere all my points I saved for the Summer Sails because I thought it to be likely that it'd return some day.

And indeed, now *finally* I have the dragonborn race ! Yay ! :) Made a pure paladin for that, and wemt through Korthos this day. ;)

Regarding permanent Hirelings :

Answer: As of Update 50, they won't be! Saltmarsh's Bullywug Rogue hirelings will be Bound to Account versus Bound to Character, and we're also retroactively changing all previous permanent Gold-Seal Hirelings from their current BTC status to BTA.

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthre...-and-not-BTA?p=6451199&viewfull=1#post6451199

Regarding cosmetic items :

In the short term, for Saltmarsh, we're trying a new method of delivering these items versus the traditional way where they're added to your inventory directly. For Saltmarsh, you'll instead be directed to an NPC that will simply give you any cosmetic that you've purchased if you so choose. This way players won't get spammed with them without their control, and if they ever want an additional copy, are free to return to the NPC and pick one up themselves.

VIPs get a 10 % discount, plus a discovery thing for named loot rolls.

For a limited time, active VIPs who login during the Saltmarsh launch month and purchase any edition of Saltmarsh will receive a Saltmarsh VIP Elixir of Discovery† for all their characters! This potion boosts the chances of getting Named Loot from chests that ordinarily contain Named Loot by 15%, and lasts for 3 hours.

I'm a VIP, do I need to take any action to receive my Saltmarsh VIP Elixir of Discovery?

Yes. You must log into your DDO game account with an active VIP subscription between the launch of Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 and Sunday 11:59 PM Eastern September 5th, 2021. Your account will be flagged as eligible, and your character(s) will receive a claim ticket in their inventory. You may then redeem your claim tickets at any time with the NPC Garthalmor in Saltmarsh as long as you own Standard, Collector, or Ultimate Fan edition of Saltmarsh at the time you speak with Garthalmor.

I found the price also a bit steep.

Don't change mounts in a suppressed state, like in a tavern ! :

This bug appears to be caused by changing mounts in a suppression zone, like a tavern. You can temporarily correct this yourself by using /death, and we will correct this issue in the near future.

A +8 Tome is a significant boost, but if you never TR/never go to 30 and start doing top end content, it's not really valuable. New characters don't get any use out of tomes; they're only used one one character.

Is it BTA or BTC ?

Store tomes are BTA, Raid ones BTC, random loot otherwise unbound. Though I think the sale on the +8's is over by now.

Found out what blew up my old computer. And the fridge. And the central AC. And the TV. And set fire to a surge protector. And blew up my battery backup. The main line coming into the house from the junction out back was drawing high voltage and pushing it into the house. Some of the outlets were outputting 180+ volts (on a 110v system).

The last thing anyone wants to watch is a surge protector light up like a xmas tree inside the outlet sockets.

Meanwhile, my TV in my bedroom, which has already been struck by lightning once and is about 16 years old, fired right back up like nothing happened. And it was hooked up to the surge protector that blew up in my face.

I'm not working Saturday (other guy's turn) but I can't promise I'll be good for long. Unless I find out that I'm back on nights next week, in which case I'll have to stay up late.

There is such a pole still standing in the garden of the house of my (long gone now) grandparents on the countryside.
That whole village has the current going through cables on poles like that.
I don't know man other villages in that area, so I really can't say how common or uncommon that still is there (although I'm leaning towards saying "still common").

Are we going on mains or alts ?

I think Dte is still going to a hotel for now with his new job, so probably alts to start, and we'll see if he can make it in for a run later.

I think JM and Corwin are still not 20 on their alts, so that's probably what we'll start on. Maybe Stormhorns will get them to 20 before we hit the Purple Haze.

I don't remember who, but someone wanted to know what armor Senha has.

All 3 items are glamered versions from the Night Revels (ex-Mabar) :

Reveler's Regalia : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Reveler's_Regalia
Hat of the Night Hag : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Hat_of_the_Night_Hag
Cloak of the Reaper (purple) : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Cloak_of_the_Reaper_(Purple)

Additionally, I have glamered versions of :

Short broom of Mystery : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Short_Broom_of_Mystery
Long broom of Mystery : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Long_Broom_of_Mystery

My short broom, which kind of acts like a one-handed club, was used with a Reveloft Mists weapon glamer as well, to give it an even more spooky look.

The long one is like a quarterstaff. It's Flaming Sphere spell (it's a clicky, actually) acts like a hate magnet : It's a good tool to draw monsters away from you. It's AI is acting a bit like a very slow summoned creature, it always tries to stay beside you and to protect you. You should not use it near water.
I haven't tested it so far whether it can work against enemies' Flaming Spheres (like in very early Necro dungeons), too. It's very effective against everything that doesn't like fire, naturally.

For Warforged Ones, there's a Docent looking like the Reveler's Regalia : It's the Delighter's Docent : https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Delighter's_Docent

Apart from the fun of that runs we had, I now have heavy doubts that taking the 35 Commendation of Valor instead of the level 22 +8 Constitution +30 Health points was a good move. I'm mostly concentrating on survival with my characters.

I did a double-click on that stack of commendations, and … I found nothing interesting for me. For hearts, for example, I'd need over 4000 Commendations https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Commendation_of_Valor , and I doubt that I will play that long within the Epics. I mean, if I calculate that : 4200 / 30 = 140 runs of quests to even get ONE heart. Even with heart seeds, its still difficult. And I don't know whether I can craft an item with 30 health points - it wouldn't stack, I fear.

I don't understand that xp bonus, though : https://ddowiki.com/page/Commendation_of_Valor_XP_Bonus_Gains
Where does it come in or from, actually ? When picking up the commendations ?

And with turning in Wiz King for quest rewards I stand now for the exact same problem . Getting a ring with 2 augment slots or ca. 30 Commendation of Valor ?

You have to remember that we are running low level epic quests. The number of commendations dropping is a function of the quest level and the difficulty you were running on.

When we run old school level 20-22 quests we can expect the number to be in the range of 30-40 on elite or reaper.

Read here for details:
https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Commendation_of_Valor

You even get bonuses for being a VIP, guild ship bonus and voice of the master.

Some weeks you have double commendation weeks so the numbers you get are doubled.

When you hit level 30 you will instead get 2 heart seeds drop per quest and you only need 42 of them to buy an epic or iconic TR heart. If I remember correctly you even get those by running on normal. The only limitation is that you only get the seeds offer once per quest per day. So you can't farm the same quest over and over.

You can even exchange 100 comms into 1 seed. So this means the heart seed drops per quest equals 200 comms. This way you get to 4200 comms (or 42 seeds) in no time.

If you decide to run from 20 to 30 you will definitely have all the comms needed to buy the TR heart you want. Maybe you need a few seed runs at level 30 to get enough. The main thing is that getting the comms is not a big issue if you pick them instead of junk loot.

If you can't run quests up to 30 on elite I would suggest you wait for farming seeds when you hit 30 since you get 2 per quest even on normal. So you can e. g. run level 20 quests at 30 and quickly get those seeds.
