Kotaku keeps an eye on "naughty" tweets (from their extremist moonbat left perspective) Again, the far left never thought polices other people, ever…it is not a habit with them…
Kotaku is saving the world from offensive tweets! (sarcasm)

Kotaku only gives this secondary coverage, I don't get your fixation on them. Sure, they tend to be kind of shitty, but this just is no good example.

And on the actual tweets: that was not even a private twitter account. Guess what, you are not free to say what you want if you act as a representative of your employer.

Yeah, this was another lot of fuss over nothing. I wouldn't have fired him, but if I ran a studio, I would definitely have a policy of staying away from political/culture wars bullshit. Just not worth the hassle - keep it strictly professional and on-topic.

Since I am currently playing the most recent Saints Row entry, I was checking whether any new entries are planned in the series. My research led me to this article:

https://www.vgr.com/saints-row-5-eve…know-about-it/
Apart from the multiplayer mode fans have been asking for, they have also requested microtransactions.
Now please excuse me for a second while I shoot myself.

Surprised they will even bother as the last spin-off was a disaster.

It was called Agents of Mayhem.

Anyway personally love the series but hated Agents of Mayhem.

The article is just speculation, I'd agree that the chances are not high. Also, the main series (not AoM) story is kind of finished.

But if they try a reboot that goes back to some of the earlier games, that might actually work.

Anyways, hope Volition produce something succesful again. They made some very nice games in the past.

Not sure it was already mentioned in this thread, but Bioware allows Anthem demo only if you preorder or subscribe on some EA's services. Additionally there is a spammail lootbox chance.
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2…-and-vip-demos
a separate "VIP" demo will be available from 25th - 27th January, 2019, for pre-orderers, EA Access subscribers, and Origin Access subscribers. Alternatively, you can sign up for the Anthem newsletter for a chance to secure a VIP code, too.
Here's hope paid demos will die miserably and CEO who blessed such idiocy gets fired.

https://www.pcgamesn.com/steam-bans-…age-characters
Steam bans erotic games with young-looking characters
First, it's games with no actual people.
Second, there is PEGi, ESRB or whatever warning on games, not to mention some countries ban anything and everything for no reason.
Third, if Saint Gabe looks like a 1000 years old, other people don't have to. Here's an example - no these are not 3 underaged sisters but a mother and two daughters not photoshopped, guess how old are they (no they're not under 18):

Microsoft's milking scheme has a name - Xbox Pass. Luckily for us here, we don't play games on Xbox so we shouldn't care about it at all. Or?
https://www.vg247.com/2018/12/07/spe…-every-device/
Xbox boss Phil Spencer said during the San Francisco’s Barclays conference this week Microsoft wants to bring Xbox Game Pass to “every device.”

“We need to make sure that we’re world-class at free-to-play content, but we also look at subscription as a much lower barrier way for a customer to build a library of content,” said Spencer at the Barclays conference. “So we built Xbox Game Pass. It started on console, it will come to PC, and eventually it will come to every device.
I'm waiting for a day where all countries will add inside the constitution a right on not to be scammed, especially not to be scammed continuously. I'm saying a sentence needs to be added as international human rights by UN or something.

Australian Twitch streamer allegedly taken into custody for hitting his wife during a livestream
Imagine you're stalling a game to earn for living and wife bugs you over and over about trash that needs to be taken outside. Well I don't know what your reaction would be, extreme as above or just piling up more stress.
A solution to unhealthy behavior? Shut down live streams. Noone will cry except parasitic stallers.

Ark: Survival Evolved devs are releasing a new game soon.
https://www.vg247.com/2018/12/07/atl…-evolved-devs/
Atlas is a 40,000 players pirate MMO from the creators of Ark: Survival Evolved
When I say something is mmo then some people here are explaining to me it's not because only a few players play it. I wonder if this is mmo because it can't service more than 40K people at the same time compared to billions in WoW.
/sarcasm off

Some Metro game was supposed to be turned to movie, but the project got cancelled.
https://www.vg247.com/2018/12/10/met…ilm-cancelled/
Production on the Metro 2033 film has halted because it didn’t work with an Americanised script
This is plain bullshit of course - the actual reason was they failed to hire Uwe Boll.
/sarcasm off again

Nope EA is losing a ton of money due to a couple of scandals and poor sales.

So the bearded guy won't buy another Dragon Age game because of some tweets.

Ok, that's fine. Kinda late to the party, but fine.

I've got larger problems with Bioware / EA than that.

By the way. What I really hate about AoM is that they made Johnny Gat a cop.

A cop.

The audacity.

VG247 stopped being Destiny site, but that doesn't mean there is no bs any more.
https://www.vg247.com/2018/12/11/thr…-back-by-bugs/
Three great games that were held back by bugs and technical issues

Assassin’s Creed Unity
No, it's not great and bugs have nothing to do with it.

The game is coop garbage with enormous amount of grind, map clutter and microtransactions.
The story is shallow, characters suck.

----------------------------------------------------

China is notorious for their their twisted censorship. You're not allowed freedom and there are plenty of government officials earning paychecks for making decisions instead of you. Sick and mindblowing decisions if you ask me.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/fortnite/fortnite-china-ban
Fortnite, PUBG, and Paladins have been banned by the Chinese government

Earlier this month, the Chinese government established its Online Ethics Review Committee, a group tasked with reviewing online games to establish whether they violate the country’s social and ethical rules. Of the 20 popular online games included in the first batch of reviews, 11 were instructed to take corrective action to address the committee’s concerns. The other nine failed the review entirely, and now seem to have been banned in the country.

Further down the list is a group of six Western games that have been banned altogether. Many of those are battle royales; PUBG, Fortnite, H1Z1, and Ring of Elysium have all be banned for featuring “blood and gore.” While I can accept some of those, I’m very confused by the take on Fortnite, a game that’s famously devoid of any blood effects.
Another hero shooter, Paladins, has also been outright banned, for a combination of “overly revealing female characters, blood and gore, and vulgar content.” As with Fortnite, the cartoon aesthetics of Hi-Rez’s shooter seems to be lacking any blood effects, so I’m unsure as to why Overwatch has been given a clearer pass.
So, the reason for ban is not scammy microtransactions. It's whatever irrelevant else.

----------------------------------------------------

Buy a game on Origin, change hardware, and get locked out by stupid DRM.
https://wccftech.com/how-to-skirt-ea…e-drm-lockout/
Truth is for most people EA Origin’s obnoxious DRM Lockout won’t be much of a nuisance, but for those who are trying out multiple hardware configurations like trying out different graphics cards, it can be an absolute nightmare. This is one of the reasons it took us so long to get our results out for Battlefield V. I’ve had the same problem with pretty much every game on Origin I’ve done a performance review for to the point that I’ve considered never touching another Origin only game again.

If this happens to you, check the link as it provides a workaround.
